Esker Cycles Hayduke V2

All the folks at Esker Cycles are proud to launch the newest generation of our iconic Hayduke.
Hayduke has always been an incredibly versatile bike. As Esker adds new models to its lineup, it allows them to refine each one to accel at its specific purpose. For the Hayduke that means it’s now dialed in to be loaded for the long haul or light and nimble singlespeed missions; this is the bike for your adventure rides.

All new for this year, Hayduke is more purposefully designed around the 29” wheel platform to help you roll faster and further into the unknown with size specific headtubes and custom tuned tubesets that will keep you comfortable on those longer rides. Clearing 2.4-2.8 rear tires with 4 different set positions, the all new “fixed adjustable nut” (FAN) on the updated Portage Dropout system allows for the fine-tuning of balance between tire clearance and chainstay length.

With the addition of threaded rack mounts, you can now carry even more gear on your backcountry adventures. Of course, you still get the versatility and functionality of threaded cable guides and bolt-on framebag mounting options in addition to the trusted Portage Dropout system for maximum dependability on every ride. Custom bags from JPaks, Rogue Panda and Cedaero can be ordered directly as those brands already have the drawings for a perfect fitting bolt-on frame bag for each individual size of Hayduke frame. Check out more at Esker.

Bespoked – the world’s longest-standing handmade bike show, based in the UK has opened applications to its first central European show, in Dresden, Germany. The Show will take place from October 13th-15th. This year’s central European edition of the show aims to lay the foundations for building a thriving culture of small independent bicycle manufacturers in central Europe, in the same way as it has in the UK over the last decade.

Following over a decade of successful shows, Bespoked, the world’s longest standing independent handmade bike show, comes to central Europe for the first time. Bespoked’s mission is to “celebrate and elevate independent bicycle makers, and build culture around the craft of small – scale bicycle manufacture.” Bespoked aims to show some of the best work in the world by presenting handmade bikes, and related brands to new audiences, while working to promote diversity and inclusivity within our community.

Gone Bikepacking: Thailand

“Gone Bikepacking: Thailand” is a 12-minute video documenting a couple’s love affair with Thailand. From dusty dirt roads and vibrant forest trails, to banana plantations and elephant grazing grounds, the film follows Sam & Bec as they explore “the land of smiles” and expose its hidden bikepacking secrets.

In 2019, enroute to the UK as part of their world bike tour, Sam and Bec cycled into Thailand and instantly fell in love. Captivated by the beautiful people, incredible food, remote trails and traditional hill tribe communities, they sold their classic touring rigs, switched their bikes over to rigid MTBs and began exploring Thailand’s back country. Inspired by its bikepacking potential, they vowed to return to Thailand to share the country’s magic with the world.

Vintage road bikes make great commuter and gravel bikes. They usually fit a larger tire and can be run with fenders. Cielo Velo’s photo of their Fuji caught our eyes…
