The Surf City CX Halloween Race is a legendary event in Santa Cruz, and this year will be better than ever since it’s being hosted by Team Rock Lobster. If you know anything about that team, you know they like to have a good time! And do add to the fun, this year will be extra special because we’re celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Surf City CX Series, which is longest running series in North America, probably even in the Western Hemisphere, and maybe even in the world! Surf City CX and Team Rock Lobster are promising an amazing day in the Santa Cruz Mountains. If you’ve never been to Bonny Doon, they encourage you to make a day of it. Bring your friends, set up a tent, let your dogs run wild and kids roll around in the mud. There will be tons of space for teams who want to compete in the cyclocross tailgating world championships. Whose BBQ can fit the most hot dogs at once anyway?
The race goes down on Sunday, October 28, at the CAL FIRE Training Facility at 13575 Empire Grade Rd, Santa Cruz, CA 95060.
