Radar Roundup: Yeti Goes Direct to Consumer, ORNOT Daily Alpha Vest, Studio51 Cycling Jewelry, 7mesh and Ciele, Wolf Tooth Color Shop Pops, and Bicycle Upcycle Cycle

Our Radar Roundup compiles products and videos from the ‘net in an easy-to-digest format. Read on below for today’s findings…

Yeti Cycles Goes Direct to Consumer

Though Yeti bikes will still be sold at independent retailers, consumers will now also be able to buy them directly from the Colorado brand’s website. Direct-to-consumer prices will be the same as those offered by Yeti dealers. And those dealers will be given another chance to make the sale when a customer shops through Yeti’s site. Before checkout, a feature on the purchase page will automatically tell the customer (whose browser location permissions are on) if there’s a dealer within 300 miles that has the bike they’re looking at in stock. They’re then given the option of contacting that shop, or continuing on with the online purchase.

According to Yeti CEO Chris Conroy, “Our customers have expressed interest in buying directly from Yeti Cycles,” which does make sense. Yeti’s customers are likely already established riders who may not need or want the shop experience. Maybe that’s why this model has been catching on lately.

Intense, Specialized, Evil, Kona, and even Trek all have consumer-direct options.
