The Adventure Cycling Association just announced five new U.S. Bicycle Routes in four states – Maryland, New York, North Dakota and West Virginia – plus Washington, D.C., adding 290 miles to the U.S. Bicycle Route System (USBRS). Check out a breakdown of each of the four-state routes below.
The Readers Write is a short-form feature where readers can write about their local rides, submit photos, and course routes, lowering the barrier for entry with sharing stories here on the Radavist. It’s a new feature we’re implementing in 2020 but have yet to set up the infrastructure for submissions, so sit tight!
Convincing folks to do a group ride is difficult enough during daylight hours in nice weather conditions, but as the nights grow longer and colder, finding a crew to roll with becomes damn near impossible. The 2013 Bike Cult show was just one of many events I wanted to attend but couldn’t this year. Set in Brooklyn, New York, this showcase brought in some of the most talented frame builders from the Northeast. The frame building community has really grown over the years and as an outsider, I think this was one of the best representations of that. You’ve got total rockstars like Peter Weigle hanging out with his neon pink randonneur bike and long-time builders like Brian Chapman winning best in show.
