“Master of Skids”
Andy is going over the top with this year’s Melburn Roobaix. He’s making a Fauxnago track bike, just like this one, as one of the prizes. I’ll see you all there and I hope you can make it. It’s gonna be a fun weekend in Melbourne.

Pantini has been getting a lot of attention as of late, with the release of Pantani: The Accidental Death of a Cyclist. Andy took it upon himself to jump-start the calendar to the Melbourne premiere – which I’ll be attending – by photographing this Bianchi Mega Pro Reparto Corse. It’s quite the looker.
Head over to FYXO for more!
Also, I’ll be in town for the Roobaix… See ya soon!

This is by far, my most favorite FYXO photo ever and this is one of Andy’s greatest long tales:
“Many have tried to replicate this ride, some with success, some with failure, none without awe of the surrounds of this part of the world and the challenges it presents when it’s just you and your bike.
I look back and think ‘did I really do that?’. Particularly day one’s 200km+ on dirt, sand, rock on a singlespeed CX one gear without an iPhone – yes, this post is that old.
These posts have inspired many to get out on there bikes and push limits and find new roads, surely helped popularise ‘gravel grinding’, yondering and whatever the hashtag of the moment is, but in truth it’s just #ridingabikewithmates.
The words of this story remain unchanged, though I’ve stitched the three day / three post report from 2009 into one. Lily Allen still puts me right back in the Eildon pub every time I hear it.”
If you could hear and smell this post, it would be the complete experience. Instead, you have to rely on words and photos. See more at FYXO.

This photoshoot took place on one of the nicer days during my last trip to Melbourne and I’m not sure who was more stoked on the sun, Andy or Adrienne. Everything about these two photos rules, from the pristine Somec Promax with Campy 11, to one of the most friendly women I’ve met through a mutual love of bikes and the lens of Andy White… You just can’t go wrong.
In fact, seeing Andy’s use of Athena 11 made me finally pull the trigger on a modern upgrade for Lauren’s Casati.

I’m going to try my hardest to get back out to Melbourne and this might be the event for it! The 2014 Melburn Roobaix is nearing…

I love Euro track bikes and FYXO’s photography, but most importantly, I appreciate his anecdotal approach to giving a background to his photoshoot. Check out more from this raconteur at FYXO!

This 1974 De Rosa was in need of some love. Turns out, Patebury‘s leatherwork makes classic Italian race bikes look even nicer. But we all know, it takes a great photographer to make a great bike look exceptional. Go see more at FYXO!

FYXO was busy photographing bikes during the Tour Down Under. One of which included this Kumo 650B Trailbreaker travel bike. Paul Racer Mediums, Brooks Cambium, Patebury leather and those bars! See more details at FYXO!
Has me missing it! This day was so incredible on so many levels. I was excited to be riding new roads and we ended up rescuing a Wedgetail Eagle. These photos are from a lost roll of film I just found from Australia. Read up more on this ride, right here.
In what critics are calling “the best Manual for Speed post in 23.9 hours”, Daniel has continued to explore the various euphemisms of Australia, while working on his own Drop Bear impersonation. The Tour Down Under seems to be going a little better for Manual for Speed. See for yourself at Day 03’s coverage of the TDU.
Andy from FYXO has quite the stable of bikes. In fact, I may be the only living American to ever visit his “man shed” and it’s pretty rad. This bike however, is my all time favorite. Classic Australian steel. See more of Andy’s Llewellyn at FYXO!
Talk about a brake with an evil reputation. Incompetent people claim they don’t work. Lovers of vintage Campagnolo worship them but few have had their cycling mitts on a set of Croce D’Aune Delta brakes. FYXO has a set of these in his web shop for sale. They’re so evil, I had to crucify them upside down.

Sorry for the lack of updates today, I was out doing reconnoissance in the Angeles Forest. That and Tracko doesn’t have wifi at his bachelor pad. Speaking of no wifi, I doubt the De Rosa factory has it either.
I can’t get over this De Rosa-built Molteni road. Gahhhhhh. See more at FYXO!
I got to meet this lovely couple when I was in Melbourne and they’re both the perfect models for FYXO’s new Squadra Corsa jerseys. My favorite of the bunch being the Maglia Rosa!

Shooting a bicycle, you either opt for it being propped up or leaned against a wall and which one you choose depends on your style. Fyxo nails the #BAAW every time and the latest to leave his shop is nothing short of amazing. TK’s Richard Sachs track bike is so clean! See the full set at FYXO!

Sorry to be re-blogging so much of Fyxo’s content these days but he keeps posting photos of some of my best friends, including this lovely lady. Adria is arguably the brains behind Trackosaurus Rex. She’s helped Kyle out with various things over the years, including designing the Golden Saddle Cyclery kits. While I wouldn’t say she has a style, she definitely has a touch and that spills over into all aspects of her life.
Fyxo shot some great photos of Adria and her Landshark cruiser. Check them out here and if you would like to hire Adria for design work, holler here.

Man, it don’t get much betta’ then this. When Sean from Team Dream Bicycling Team took Andy from FYXO and me on a ride in the Topanga hills, we were lead to believe it would be an easy spin. Actually, come to think of it, I’m pretty sure I said I would only ride if it were an easy spin… Andy and I had just done a big ride the day before, I was very sunburnt and had sand in my crotch.
That didn’t stop Sean, who was amped to show us his home trails…
… and a little sand in the crotch didn’t stop FYXO from bringing his DSLR on the ride to capture some radness. Head over to FYXO to see the full scoop!

During the Tour Down Under, Andy from FYXO is hosting the 2014 Australian Custom Bicycle Show in Adelaide. There is a slight, slight chance that I’ll be back in OZ to document the show and to soak in the TDU and “RADelaide”. Last year’s event looked great! Go see for yourself at the ACBS page on FYXO.
