In Stock Now: Radavist and Cedaero Portage Bag – Black and Burgundy

When Josh posted up his Alumalith, with a custom Portage bag he collaborated on with Cedaero, it caused a rukkus! Karl from Cedaero got flooded with requests for these throwback MTB bags from the 1980s and 90s, so we decided to make a run for our readership!

We made two colors; waxed canvas burgundy ($134.95) like Josh specced and all-black cordura ($124.95). These bags are bike geometry/size specific and Karl made them to fit the Alumalith but they will fit any bike but you’ve gotta be mindful with the sizing! Read on below for more information on how to size this for your bike…

The classic, resurrected! Originally designed for the Ron’s Bikes/Crust Alumalith, this portage-style pack lends just enough room for the essential sundries while staying out of the way of your whirling knees.

You can now (re)live the golden era when moms and dads everywhere stretched out over loooooong stems while wearing smooth pistachio-shell-shaped chunks of foam on their noggins. If you have an A L U M A L I T H, here’s how the sizing breaks down:

  • Small Alumalith 16″      86º
  • Medium Alumalith 18″       81º
  • Large Alumalith 20″       77.5º
  • X-Large Alumalith 22″       74.5º

Please note these are not the seat tube angle itself but the angle that forms from the sloping top tube to the seat angle. Check out why that matters…

Cari would need a MEDIUM bag for her Elephant, John’s Bruce Gordon would need a MEDIUM too. It’s all about the top tube angle as it meets the seat tube angle. John’s top tube slopes a LOT.

If you don’t have an A L U M A L I T H, determine your fit by downloading this PDF – also attached in these product photos! You can print it out and hold it up to your bike, or put that high school protractor to use for measuring your top tube/seat tube angle, and then make your selection accordingly! You can also use this .PNG image and overlay it on a flat, straight, drive-side photo of your bike.

The burgundy is made from waxed canvas and the black is all cordura.

Each bag is supplied with paracord and cord clamps. The drive side has a deep pocket for riding essentials and the non-drive side has a thinner pocket, ideal for a phone or wallet.

Specs:

  • Roughly 10″ long x 7″ tall x 2.5″ wide
  • 15oz Waxed canvas exterior
  • Zippered sleeve pocket on non-drive side
  • 200D nylon lining
  • Foam stiffeners in all panels
  • #9 Ideal zipper with Nanosphere coating

We have a full-size run in stock in both burgundy and black at The Radavist Webshop.
