Introducing the Mega Mid South 2024: A 300-Mile Ultra Race

The Mid South and District Bicycles are excited to announce the “Mega Mid South,” a new 300-mile ultra race in Central Oklahoma…

Starting and ending at District Bicycles in Stillwater, the 300 mile loop is comprised of the outer perimeter of every MID SOUTH course over the past 13 years, traversing the tribal land of the Quapaw, Kiowa, Osage, Kickapoo, Pawnee, Iowa and Wichita Nations.

As with any Mid South route, there is much more than meets the eye as the endless red dirt rollers stretch across the Cross Timbers region of central OK.

Come prepared for 300 miles of B Road beauty with nearly 17,000 feet of climbing. These roads, though never too far from civilization, feel remote and allow you to be totally immersed in the Oklahoma landscape. As ultra endurance bike packing routes go, Mega Mid South is fairly accessible, with ample lodging and camping options, and C-Stores never more than 50 miles apart.

The first ever grand depart of the Mega Mid South will happen Wednesday, September 18th at 8am.

The event is free, and 100% self supported. Anyone who completes the Mega Mid South on this first grand depart will earn guarenteed entry into The Mid South 2025.

The Mid South 2025 happens March 13-16th, 2025. For more info visit midsouthgravel.com.
