These KONGA Rata Track Bikes Look Great
These oversized tubed, fillet brazed, steel track machines have caught my eye. Antti Konga builds these bikes in Finland, which explains the name, Rata, which means “track” in Finnish. Antti doesn’t have a website yet, so check out more photos of the KONGA Rata track bike here. Really loving that set!

Trackosaurus Rex: Austin’s BMW Gangsta Track/lo Cross
The Brooklyn Machine Works Gangsta track was one of the first cross over track bikes that really could adapted for just about any terrain. I remember a few messengers in NYC racing cross on these bikes at Staten Island a few years back. One of those messengers was Austin Horse. Well, he’s still on it. In fact, he raced the Westside Invite in LA a few weeks back before heading over to Japan to race cross and another Red Bull event.
Before Austin embarked for Japan, Kyle at Tracko took some nice photos of this unique machine. Check out more photos here.

Athens Does Fast Friday
Back in 2005 when Cadence started Fast Friday, I doubt Dustin anticipated riders in Athens would be doing the same thing in 2012. Check out this new video by Boat Magazine.

The Best Red Hook Crit Milano Video Yet
I like seeing sprint finishes at the Red Hook Crit, even if sometimes you’ve gotta go to Milano to see one. Because there were no sprints for the gold at Red Hook Crit Brooklyn last year!

Back from the Grave: Donal Rey’s Yamaguchi Track
When your precious track bike gets hit by a car, most would just hang her up on the wall and blow her kisses at night. Not Donal. He sent his wrecked Yamaguchi to Ian Sutton of Icarus Frames for a little repair job. The completed work is really rad, as captured here in this studio portrait. Looking good holmes!

Stanridge Speed’s Newest High Street Pursuit

I’m a sucker for a sleek, black track bike, especially one that’s been photographed as well as this new Stanridge High Street Pursuit. This one needs those black Phil Wood cranks though!

Wilis’ Nagasawa
I love shooting 3200 Delta during the day. The grain just adds to the subject. But what I don’t like is when I forget to take the exposed rolls out of my bag before going through the airport’s xray. Whoops. Unfortunately, this was the only photo that survived and it’s a shame because this is a Beautiful Bicycle. Wilis’ Nagasawa built up quite nicely.

Death Spray Custom: Team Track Fork

Man. This is so, so sick. Rudy from the 5th Floor has a custom Death Spray Custom fork on his track bike and I’m digging it a lot. See more at the Death Spray Custom blog.

Damian Riehl: Bicycle Parts Study
Wiping your bike down after every ride and refusing to lock it up may keep it in pristine condition but will it have character? Or a soul? Prolly not. Well used components and frames seem to sprout a personality with the patina from daily use and Damian Riehl has captured that with a few photos. This one in particular is my favorite, a 150mm shot (with an extension tube) from his Hasselblad of a Zipp hub.
