Silca’s Travel HX-Two Travel Kit

The thing I use the most in my toolkit is my Silca HX-One home wrench set, yet I never bring it on the road with me because I’m afraid of losing some of the tiny bits in the black hole that is my truck. After the success of the HX-One home kit, Silca announced their HX-Two travel kit. These are not your standard hex wrenches. Not at all. This is Silca after all.

These wrenches are heat treated with a 9 step process, with a high grip polymer coating over high-engagement satin chrome. After over two years of heavy use, my HX-One wrenches still look brand new. The hex keys in the set, which include 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.5, 2, and 1.5mm, and Torx® keys include T30, T27, T25, T20, T15, T10, T9, T8, and T7. See more at Silca.

The All In Multitool and MAGNETS!

Ever go on a ride and forget your multitool only to find yourself needing to adjust your stem or bars? Sure, laying out this scenario might be a bit cheesy, but we’ve all done it and personally, I like to “set and forget” a lot of my gear. Which is why the All In Multitool piqued my interest when I first saw a prototype last year. Check out more below.

Full Windsor: The Breaker Tool

Full Windsor is taking their multi tool to new limits and needs the help of Kickstarter:

“Featuring a chain breaker with a tool grade stainless steel pin. The Breaker uses the tool bit extender as a handle, giving you the functionality of a workshop chain breaker in a multi tool. A magnetic tool bit slot is located in the tool’s end allowing the tool to be used like a screw driver. The Breaker is compact and fits nicely into a leather and recycled inner tube pouch. The Breaker is cast from stainless steel using a loss wax casting process and then is tool hardened. It is currently Patent Pending.

The tool weighs just 100g/3.5oz and magnetically houses 2 tool bits inside it’s structure. While the full tool pouch weighs just 185g/ 6.5oz.

The Breaker features:

Chain Breaker with tool hardened stainless steel pin (replaceable)
Glass filled nylon tyre lever with a steel core
Spoke key
3,4,5,6,8mm hex tool bits
Philips head screw driver (PH2)
T25 torx bit

GB Leather: Multitool Chain Whip

I haven’t thought about buying a chain whip in some time. Partially because my Park Tools whip always does the job, but the GB Leather multitool chain whip looks more like a piece of art than it does a tool. I love the leather grip and the flame-kissing on the end is a nice touch.

The Lever+ Bike Tool by Townie Syndicate

For a while, I refused to post Kickstarter campaigns. Mostly because the products seemed chintzy or a little too hastily designed. Until recently, I’ve been coming across some products that are so simple that I want to share them. That’s what I thought about the Lever+ Bike Tool.

It’s a tire lever, something most people carry when they ride, combined with a 4 mm, 5 mm hex, Phillips head driver and a T-25 Torx head driver. Basically everything you’d need in a multi-tool, stuffed into the plastic gut of a tire lever.

Check out more information on the Lever+ at its Kickstarter campaign.
