One of my favorite MTB events of the year jettisons itself off the red soil and into the air tomorrow at 9am PST. Red Bull Rampage is looking to be a good one this year! Watch it at Red Bull.
Bike messenger and Red Bull athlete Austin Horse takes to the streets to ride to advocate for a Universal Health Care Bill… Video by Sara Kinney.
It seems nowadays mountain bike videos get bigger, badder and honestly, more unbelievable. Athletes are pushing themselves and their locations for these flicks to the ends of the Earth. It just so happens, this video takes place in the arctic circle. Brrrrrr!
Red Bull has been on a roll with their recent videos and their latest, Kaleidoscope is trippy!
Here’s some super pro video from Red Bull’s Mini Drome Over Under event that took place last week…
Here’s a video recap from Red Bull’s Over Under Mini Drome in NYC.
The Over Under Red Bull Mini Drome
Photos and interview by Chris Lee
On June 19th, Red Bull hosted its annual Mini Drome race in an industrial neighborhood of Maspeth, New York. In keeping with tradition, the event had no shortage of rave lights, bass pounding DJ sets and Red Bull flowing out of every corner of the room. But unlike years past, this Mini Drome had a twist: a figure 8. Named the “Over/Under”, this miniature velodrome, sporting a cool figure 8 design, is a faster and tighter version of the already infamous “Human Powered Rollercoaster” or “La Ocho”. Teams of two and single participants, called “All Stars”, duked it out for the number one spot on the podium. In the end, team Deluxe Cycles of Brooklyn took home the team title and Red Bull’s own Addison Zawada from Jacksonville, Florida, the individual title.
This looks like it’s going to be wild! Red Bull built a figure eight mini drome to hold a night of racing on in NYC. Two racers will battle head to head on a course unlike anything the mini drome events have seen before. You can see a timelapse of the assembly at the Red Bull Instagram and see more details or RSVP at the event page.
Go Nico, GO!

The 2014 Red Bull Mini Drome NYC

This year’s Red Bull Mini Drome took place at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple on June 28th. Unlike last year’s frigid race, this year took place in the middle of summer and brought a much higher (and more leveled) caliber of racing to the event. Racers definitely took note from the year previous and brought fixed gear freestyle bikes, fixed gear DJ bikes and a lighter gear ratio. This made for some really impressive bike handling and transition pumping skills to be shown off while each racer gained more speed with every lap.
This year’s Mini Drome featured a new “fastest team” category which Brooklyn Machine Works took home. And of course the individual fastest racer which went to Brooklyn local, David Rodebough.
I wish I could have squeezed this into my schedule somehow before the ATOC. If you’re in SF, make sure you swing by the Red Bull Ride + Style and don’t miss the Stay Strapped DVD premiere! Check the flier out for that below.
… and this might be one of the best promo videos for the event to date. Check out more information at Red Bull.
Boothby is always on his game. Here’s his latest for Red Bull…
Am I right? Man, I miss New York City, Austin Horse and Brooklyn Machine Works!
This is insanity. See more at Red Bull.
Wow. This event looks insane and the Tru Fix Kru did a great job with the recap. See more here!
