Brian Baylis Painted this Insane Splatter Two-Tone Holland Track Bike

Our buddy Cicli Pucci rolled into the shop the other day on this Holland Track Bike, and all of our jaws just dropped. Which is actually quite normal when Pucci rolls through. He’s been painting with Joe Bell for many years now and always has the most fly of bikes, always hand-painted by himself. You all probably remember his Azuki Pro that was featured here about a year ago.

Tien…negen…acht…zeven…

I hear the pitter patter of tiny feet and look out the window.

Zes…vijf…vier…

A little girl runs around the corner and crouches behind the car.

Drie…twee…één!

She locks eyes with me, and holds a finger to her lips. I don’t need to speak Dutch to understand the universal sign for “Don’t blow up my hide-and-go-seek spot, bro!

The Cyclist Philosopher

I really enjoyed this one. Here’s some background:

“For Andy Duncan, cycling means freedom and life without it is hard to imagine. As a Scotsman and philosopher who stood at the frontier of bike messengering in the Netherlands his affection for cycling stem from the 225.000 km he travelled through the streets and suburbs of Utrecht during the last 22 years. Two years ago Andy was diagnosed with an aggressive prostatic cancer and was told he had only three years to live. We met Andy just before he moved back to Scotland. Surrounded by moving boxes, he was working on his last bike – battered, but resilient and very much in love.”
