Melbourne’s Dirty Deeds CX league is something I’ve yet to experience in person. Once a rogue group of riders hitting trails in unsanctioned races is now a full blown ‘cross league. Pick up one of these Creux collaborative jerseys here.

Last year, at NAHBS, I met Jeremy and Neil from Cedar Cycling, a new cycling wear brand. Using high-end Australian merino wool blend fabric and local manufacturing in California, I knew Cedar was really doing something genuine and legit. Over a bottle of bourbon, we discussed working on a jersey. But since they had barely just launched their brand, we knew it would be some time before we’d have samples.

Earlier in the summer, I met up with them in SF to look at fabrics and discuss the jersey in detail. Then, a few weeks ago, I finally got my hands on one. I was really, really impressed. This is one of the nicest jerseys I’ve ever owned. We worked really hard getting everything right, especially the fit. It’s form-fitting, without being race cut. The sleeves sit just right and the front lies flat on your chest.

One of my biggest qualms with a lot of jerseys that I own is the pocket room. Especially during the winter. You end up stuffing arm warmers, a gillet and gloves into your pockets on the daily. Three generous open rear pockets hold all your ride essentials, plus two hidden zippered pockets to keep your valuables safe. The whole jersey is held in place by silicone gripper imported from Italy. The fit is true to size. I wear a large shirt and a large jersey.

It fits great and is incredibly comfortable. What I’m trying to say is, this is far from just a new “colorway”…

I just signed off on the production sample and the full run is currently being made by hand in Oakland, California. Expect a delivery mid-January and we’ll be running a discounted pre-order after the new year. For now, here’s a few of the details.

This is awesome, random, but awesome. All three parties involved in this ring are well respected and extremely talented. Stevie Gee designed a ring for Death Spray Custom, which The Great Frog then fabricated. If these are priced like the rest of The Great Frog‘s rings, they’ll be too rich for most of our blood. But damn, they look nice!

MacNeil and Defgrip worked on some incredibly well-branded grip packaging. Oh and I’m sure the grips are solid too. Pick up a set at your local BMX shop.

I’ve been waiting to post this for a little while but had to get higher-res photos from the Burro crew for the nice, cushy blog body formatting. Japanther has a huge following, much like Burro and I don’t imagine these sticking around for long. Pick one up here! I can’t wait to see who Burro is going to collab with next. Let’s just say, I’m sure a Chicago band by the name of BONGRIPPER could use some bags and I would buy one of those!  Seriously, someone set that one up.

One of my favorite projects at the 2012 NAHBS was this Ira Ryan-fabricated Ned Ludd Market Bike. I met Jason in Sacramento and heard most of what he says here in this video over tacos at Steve Rex‘s spot one night. Jason’s a passionate individual and seeing this project get some much-deserved attention has got to be inspirational. Exceptional!
