Perhaps you remember the comments in that one Phinney video where someone suggested Silca and Taylor team up on a pump? Well, I emailed the two of them and voila, it happened. If you’re at Worlds, don’t miss out!

Ghost Peloton
This one’s interesting:
“Created for the grand depart of the Tour de France 2014 from Yorkshire, Ghost Peloton fuses performance cycling with athletic choreography performed by Phoenix Dance Theatre’s dancers, and the varied landscapes of race route.
Each rider, bike and performer was illuminated using NVA’s bespoke LED light suit, which can instantaneously change colour, flash-rate and luminosity. The rhythm of movement from the choreographed actions of massed participants becomes a source of creativity in itself, extending perception of the immediate setting.
It’s epic public art, operating at the grandest scale, where physical surroundings become an open canvas carrying a new visual language, expressing mood and movement, comprised of form, colour and line.”

KCE’s MERCIBOS Exhibition Photos
Tyler at Firefly was kind enough to send over some photos from last weekend’s MERCIBOS exhibition by KCE at Firefly. I can’t get over how creative these prints are, especially the ceramic snail design.

Merckx Mondays
When I saw this on Crihs’ Instagram from the Bicycle Film Festival‘s Joy Ride art show in Mexico City, I had to get a higher res photo for Merckx Mondays. Luckily, Doug D was there and shot a proper photo. I’m so stoked on this piece and if I had the wall space, I’d try to purchase it from the artist! Here’s the scoop:
Name: 148+fracc
Website: www.facebok.com/yopower
Materials: wood and acrylic paint
Technique: xylography
Work description:
“This piece is based on Eddy Merckx’s hour record done in Mexico’s Agustin Melgar velodrome in 1972. The name of the piece comes exactly from that: 148 laps and fraction that he did to complete the record. The rasterized image is carved on wood pieces with the regalement size for velodromes. Also the colour lines are official except that the cuerda line is red instead of black just as it was back then.
Generally in my work I use a contrast between antique techniques and new concepts. That’s what gives all my work a discursive character. In this case this piece was specially made for the Joy Ride art show of the Bicycle Film Festival Mexico.”
So rad! Speaking of art pieces, Tracko came across this eBay auction!

Merckx Mondays
I came across this late Monday night last week and figured I’d just hold onto it for a week. Perhaps you remember that Merckx illustration for Rouleur Magazine #14? Well, British artist Richard Mitchelson translated his original artwork into a vinyl, 6″ figurine. You can pre-order this pocket-sized cannibal for £35.00 exclusively at Rouleur.

Mike Martin’s Photos from All Chips on the Table
Since I can’t make it out to every rad event that takes place in SF, It’s nice to have Mike Martin of Mash to offer up some choice photos from the The Bicycle Art & Design of Garrett Chow: All Chips on the Table gallery show and Cutty Cross race. This show looked amazing and these photos will serve the purpose of introducing you to Garrett’s work if you’re unfamiliar.
Also, don’t miss out on a few shots of Garrett’s Specialized Concept Venge road bike after the show photos.

LA Randomness 01
Saturday was the first day that I got to ride around with my camera in hand and do “tourist stuffs”. Tony came down from Santa Barbara and we spent the afternoon at the LACMA. After geeking out on art, we headed back to GSC, where we downed some beer and bourbon… Randomness ensued.

She no longer has the print for sale, but you can see her Etsy here and her work at a forthcoming show in Long Beach called American Hicksters.

Мишка and Affinity 5 Year Anniversary Frame by Lamour Supreme
Since leaving NYC, it’s great to see people and brands that I brought together still pushing rad shit. I introduced Lamour Supreme to Mishka many years ago and that led to talks of bikes and art. Since Affinity was my LBS, I always sent the dudes to Jason for their cycling needs. Now, what? Like 5 years later, Mishka, Affinity and Lamour Supreme put this sick as fuck Kissena track bike out. Amazing.
Check out some killer photos below!

SxSW Randomness 03
Today was awesome. We started off with a detox ride to some hills and immediately got sucked into the madness that is SxSW. I randomly bumped into Matty B, who was working at the Handsome roasters pop up shop. After some much-needed caffeine, I headed over to Yellow Jacket, where Elle Camino Vintage Clothes had her pop up shop going and from there, it just got kinda fuzzy. I do know that I saw Lamour Supreme at Secret Walls at some point but again, the rest of the night was a blur. Check it out for yourself here.
