Sopo Bicycle Cooperative has commissioned the painting of more than a dozen bicycle frames by local artists for its second Art Bike Show. These artists, including familiar names such as Everman, Charlie Smith and Olabad have been asked to use the bicycle frame is their canvas and create unique, buildable and rideable art. The frames were received as donations and will be on display for silent auction to raise funds for the organization. Several restaurants and coffee shops around Atlanta will be showcasing this artwork throughout the month of September in support of Sopo.
Atlantans can view and bid on the frames through the show’s website however Sopo encourages you to visit each location and view the bicycles in person. During September, Sopo will host bicycle tours and gatherings to view the frames in person.
The final reception will be held at the Goat Farm on October 7th from 7-11pm. In addition to art frames, other bicycle related artwork and individual bicycle components will be featured for auction. DJ Chris Devoe will be on hand for musical entertainment and there will be food trucks and other refreshments served.
