Readers’ Rides: Ben’s Rock Lobster

Any time a Rock Lobster crawls its way into our Readers’ Rides email, we drop everything and take note. Today we’re sharing Ben’s chartreuse crustacean in all its glory so read on below!

This is my Rock Lobster do-it-all bike. I built this up to be able to ride out the back door, to the trails, around the trails, and back home again on the road.

Paul from Rock Lobster was great to work with and did an amazing job of bringing that vision to reality. I couldn’t decide which metal to use for the head badge and Paul suggested copper to match the soil here in Western CO.

The groupset is SRAM AXS, a mix of everything from Rival to Red. The Fork is ENVE’s Adventure Fork. Wheels are Hunt and the rest is mostly Easton.

I was willing to take what I could find while looking for parts but got lucky and was able to be consistent. Tires are currently 700×45 and there is space for more.

Pictures are attached. Thanks for what you do!

We’d like to thank all of you who have submitted Readers Rides builds to be shared over here. The response has been incredible and we have so many to share over the next few months. Feel free to submit your bike, listing details, components, and other information. You can also include a portrait of yourself with your bike and your Instagram account! Please, shoot landscape-orientation photos, not portrait. Thanks!
