Classified Powershift Boost Hub

Classified, the Belgian component manufacturer, announced today the launch of a mountain bike-specific Powershift hub system. The new mountain bike product, the Powershift boost hub, together with Classified’s new 11-40t 12 speed cassette, has a gear range of 530%; the largest of any drivetrain system on the market. Entry into the mountain bike space allows Classified to introduce yet another revolutionary piece of technology: the Ringshifter. A feather light wireless shifter that controls the 2 speed Powershift hub, offering sensational feedback and fitting seamlessly into the existing cockpit.

The MTB world has become used to a 1×11 or 12 gear drivetrain system but Classified passionately believe that more is needed for the optimum ride experience. The addition of the 2-speed hub, multiplying the cassette gears and gearing range, gives the rider 16 unique gears, after removing duplicate ratios, to always be able to access the right cadence, reduce gear grinding and remove huge gear steps. On top of that the additional gears are all accessible in the middle of the cassette which helps keep cross chaining to a minimum.

German backpacking maker Deuter recently expanded its PFC-free bag line to include bikepacking bags. Included in the drop are universal half frame bags ($105), seat pack ($140), a handlebar bag ($70), and a handlebar harness ($130).The band has gained traction in the outdoor industry for its exceptionally-well-fitting, climate-neutral, recycled backpacking packs, so it’s cool to see them take on bikepacking bags.

2023 Southeastern Appalachian Bike Swap – April 29th

Two Bikes and Yee-Haw Brewing Co. are proud to present the 2023 Southeastern Appalachian Bike Swap on April 29th from 12 to 8(ish).

The Bike Swap is a place to buy, sell, and trade all your favorite bikes and parts. There’s no better time or place to talk nerdy bike stuff. Register for a table and help clear out your parts bin.

The Knoxville Goldsprint is (we think) the largest purse ever for a Southeastern bicycle roller racing event. Two cyclists compete head-to-head in a bracket format. We’re proud to offer an equal purse for the men, women, and non-binary categories. $1,000 and the winner takes it all.

The Alt-Bike Met Gala is the most prestigious bike show in the Southeast. Bring your favorite bike(s) to compete in the vintage road, vintage mountain, modern road, modern mountain, alt-bike (commuter, Bikepacking, bike touring), and (the new for this year) Neo-retro category.
