Meriwether Shimzilla In Stock $28

22.2 bars arguably offer the most comfort in terms of flex and aid in ceasing wrist fatigue. Yet the main issue with 22.2 bars is attaching peripherals like computer or light mounts. Meriwether has solved this with its Shimzilla; an extra wide 22.2 to 31.8mm handlebar shim that allow for mounting of various things on either side of the stem clamp.

If you know you know, they’re very useful and may even help with bar strength over the life of the bar. Made by Paragon Machine Works and look just like theirs but with a 3″ wide 31.8mm clamping section.

This would also help mounting handlebar cradles by Salsa or Miss Grape to your Ti or steel 22.2mm bars from DOOM, Oddity, Blacksheep, Surly, Mone’, BTCHN, Meriwether and so on. Material is 6061 Aluminum.

Agave Finishworks Meriwether Bars

Speaking of 22.2 handlebars and Meriwether Cycles, Agave Finishworks, a company specializing in titanium anodizing, just got a restock of Meriwether Bars in riser and sweeper configurations with ti dye anodizing and satin grey finishes. These 22.2 clamp bars will need a shim for 31.8 stems but due to their slimmer profile, offer up a nice, flexy feel.

Ornot Mission Pants in Stone Blue $148

We love the Ornot Mission Pants as much as we adore the Mission Shorts and for fall/winter 2023, Ornot rolled out a new stone blue color in its popular design, alongside four (!!!!) other colors.

These do-it-all, sewn-in-the-USA pants can take you from the trail to the office. The technical 4-way stretch woven fabric makes them light enough to ride in and durable enough to be your daily driver. Constructed with the same recycled bluesign®-approved fabric used in our mission shorts, you can count on these pants to last. Stash your valuables in the rear zippered pockets or hidden thigh pocket and get lost. Roll up the cuffs to expose rear reflective detailing when you’re riding.

Feel good (in them) and do good knowing that the recycled fibers used in construction reduce energy and water consumption while cutting greenhouse gases and waste from landfills. Sewn right here in the SF Bay Area, these pants are perfect for every activity.

Wilde and Nitto Country Bar $120

Just like the early 80’s MTB pioneers, when we wanted to create our dream off-road touring handlebar we hooked up with the fine folks at Nitto. The Country Bars are perfect for any bike where you want a comfy and wide perch with a bit of flex. Its official Nitto designation is B804AA, but we think “Country Bar” rolls off the tongue a bit easier.

If you’re signed up for Rivendell‘s Friday Newsletter that Will puts together, then you probably caught this fun video the brand made while in Taiwan visiting its factory. Will, Roman, and James were in Taiwan at the beginning of September and got to ride Platypus completes around Sun Moon Lake. It was about 80°F with 80% humidity.
