Inspired by the work of Tom Ritchey and the very first production mountain bikes in California, the Stayer Cycles stAyTB project is a collaborative effort with 2nd Life Bikes. The stAyTB project consists of a frame, fork, bullmoose bars, day rack, wheels, headbadge and other bits and bobs all beautifully and somewhat singularly fillet brazed and fashioned in Leytonstone, East London. Specs
The frames are fillet brazed with Reynolds steel, left raw like Ross Shafer’s work meaning there is no filing, just brass overlapped! They have been designed to roll on a more modern wheel diameter; 27.5″ wheels with 2.2″ tires. They also feature a modular dropout system that can take inserts for through axle (142 x 12), QR 135mm or horizontal SS/Fixed also at 135mm. Stayer notes at some point soon there will be a UDH insert.
Other specs on the frames include ISO disc brakes, seatpost is 27.2 mm, attached via a fastback with removable threaded boss, the headtube is for 1 1/8″ straight steerer forks designed around an axle-to-crown of 395mm, M5 bosses for racks and fenders.
Pricing and Lead Times
Initial orders for everything else will be delivered in October and then stock shall show on the website and be periodically replenished.

Batch 1 pre order special £1200
The initial pre-orderable batch is for Small, Medium and Large in rAwrAw house finish only. The second quickly to follow is for XS and XL sizes and those who want custom color finishes which will also be available on all parts.
Fork – £395
One size disc 650b 395mm axle to crown and 55mm offset. 1 ⅛” straight steerer and 12mm x100 thru-axle.
Bullmoose – £220
Two sizes fillet brazed construction. 80 rise 90 reach or 95 rise 110 reach. Both supplied 800mm wide with around 8º backsweep.
Rack – £195
One size day rack for crown and dropout attachment points. Six m5 fixing points and secondary ‘big box’ stay for mid fork attachment. Available soon.
Topcap – £28
Brass machined and laser etched in-house.
