Cinelli: Red Hook Crit Milano Replica Frames

Rounding out the three commemorative frames from this year’s Red Hook Crit series is this RHC Milano Vigorelli frameset. The finish and design of this one is completely over-the-top. I love all the attention to detail. Made in a short run of 20 frames and available exclusively at Cinelli.

Richard Sachs Cinelli Bar Tape Available Now

Richard teased me with this yesterday but I had no idea it’d be available today! Available in an array of colors, this RS embossed Cinelli bartape was made in limited numbers, so head over to Richard Sachs to get a few rolls.

Am I crazy to think that “#ATMO” bar tape would also sell really well?

This is so rad!

“A new chapter begins with GEO, the ultimate adventure-bike for the offroad travel, which will take you where no one has before. Tested and refined crossing the incredible Darien Gap, the most secluded jungle on the earth, between Columbia and Panama, where the Pan-American road stops.”

Cinelli Winged Store: Neil Bezdek Rider Cap

Man, it’s a Red Hook Crit morning. Here’s a video showcasing Neil Bezdek and his Rider Cap:

“Neil Bezdek is a bike racer, advocate, commuter, and writer based in New York City. Neil grew up mountain biking on singletrack outside of Denver, Colorado before falling in love with road cycling while attending college in scenic Santa Barbara, California.

After a year-long stint as a bike messenger in New York City, Neil took up road racing and competed professionally for three seasons. Now pursuing a “grown up” career in NYC’s Department of Transportation’s Bike Share Program, Neil still finds time to moonlight as a semi-professional at races across the US while also contributing regularly to Bicycling magazine.

Neil is a four-time winner of the Red Hook Criterium, which we considers his all-time favorite cycling event.”

The 2015 Cinelli MASH Histogram

I wish I was at Eurobike, but alas, things didn’t work out. Instead, I have my friends in the industry sending me little sneak peeks at forthcoming products. Like the 2015 Cinelli MASH Histogram. Designed by Garrett Chow of MASH in a sleek, minimal livery with nicely-placed accents and color.

Garrett’s Cinelli XCR Road with Campy Record 11

Reportage

Garrett’s Cinelli XCR Road with Campy Record 11

The Cinelli XCR embodies the ideologies representing the brand’s history of making performance steel racing bicycles. Much like the modern big brother to the Supercorsa, the XCR is made in Italy, individually, by hand.

It just so happens that every one of these frames is made to order. Custom if you will, because each frame is welded after an order is placed, which, to me, is pretty rad.

For people like Garrett Chow, the man responsible for many of MASH’s designs, the XCR was exactly what he was looking for after riding strictly carbon for years. He wanted some compliance with a livelier stride…

When the crew at Cinelli / Columbus offered to build him a bike, he gladly obliged and requested a white paint job with Mash insignia added in. Garrett spared no expense on the bike, building with with Campagnolo Record 11, 3T and Fulcrum Racing Lite XLR race wheels. Basically, everything on this bike is made in Italy, minus the Chris King headset and LOOK pedals.

I shoot a lot of nice bicycles, but this one made me nervous as we propped it up on the side of Diablo… See more in the Gallery and thanks to Garrett for thinking of me when it came to shooting this bike!

Fifo Cycles for the Cinelli Winged Store

Cinelli teamed up with one of my favorite cap manufacturers on their latest collaboration. This go-round, they commissioned Fifo Cycles to design and produce an homage to the 1988 Seoul Summer Games and the Soviet racers who took home 4 medals on the Laser pursuit bikes at the track.

There’s something very Russian post-constructivist about the design and I love it!
