King Kog Has a New Webshop!

King Kog has been one of the most successful cycling blogs to come around in the past decade. This shop was one of the first track bike / fixed gear specialty stores in the world and has always delivered great products. Now, they’ve got a new web shop with product photos by JP Bevins.

Head over to check it out. My favorite is this handmade King Kog belt buckle! So good!

Packing Observations: High and Low Vis

For the past two days, I’ve been preparing to head back down to Australia for a few weeks. Lauren is there, working again and so I get to spend some more time with my bestest mates. As I was packing this morning, I noticed some color-coordination happening and thought I’d take a minute to shoot these two photos.

These are all products I use and wear on a daily basis. With all the “what kind of _____ is that?” I experience, let me break it down:

Left
Manual for Speed shirt
Rapha Brevet Gillet
Rapha Winter City Riding Merino Socks
Giro Atmos helmet

Right
Winter shirt
Giro Limited Empire MTB Shoe
Topo Designs Mountain Shorts
Topo Designs Nesting Pouches

I won’t even begin to lay out all the orange and camo gear I have…

Easton Cycling and PiNP #HideYourBikeInPlainSight Instagram Contest

Look, camouflage is very “in” at the moment, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Easton would make a few rolls of this bar tape for promo purposes. I keep telling them to put the pattern into production but for some reason, they’re hesitant. Regardless, I managed to get my hands on a few boxes of the stuff and I want to give them away.

Want to win a free roll of this special edition Easton Cycling camo bar tape? The rules are simple. Go for a ride (in the city, the woods, gravel, dirt, mud, wherever), hide your bike in a creative way, take a photo on Instagram, tag #HideYourBikeInPlainSight (I know it’s a long one), then @ reply / follow both @Easton_Cycling and @JohnProlly.

You can add as many photos as you want…

Come Monday, I’ll pick the winner and ship you a roll!

Ready… GO!

Save Your Ass

A lot of people ask me about Ass Savers and from the little experience I’ve had with mine (hey, it never rains in Austin), I’d say they’re pretty damn good! Here’s a little video showcasing the simplicity of the Ass Savers design.

The Ruckus Carbon Access Tool (C.A.T.)

I like small products like the new Ruckus Carbon Access Tool:

“The Ruckus Carbon Access Tool (C.A.T.) is a multi-tool like no other. It was developed to fit the majority of keys on the market today and allow for future modularity. Manufactured in the USA from lightweight carbon fiber, it offers a balance between sleek professionalism and everyday usage.

Quote from Shawn Small (Owner of Ruckus Composites)
“My girlfriend was out of town and I needed something to do with my hands”

C.A.T. (Carbon Access Tool) MSRP: $32.50″
