Joe McKeag delivers some of his heavy-hitting lines in this welcome video for Royal HC. He throws down switch 3’s, 540 cabs and big 180’s like it’s no big deal.

Royal H Cycles: Mike’s Track Bike
Bryan has done a bang up job at documenting his latest projects in recent months. His newest build to roll out of Fringe is actually staying in the building. Mike works freelance web design down the hall from Bryan and has been eyeing his bikes since moving into the space. Glad to see this one done guys. And I love ergo drops on steel track bikes.
Check out more of Mike’s track bike here at the Royal H Flickr.

Royal H Cycles: Philly Bike Expo Road Bike
I was really mad at myself when I realized the Philly Bike Expo was coming to a close and I had yet to shoot photos of this Royal H. Cycles super road bike. It’s not everyday you see gold leafing on a bike, muchless in such a subtle way. Check out more photos of Mr. Hollingsworth’s newest creation here!

Royal H Cycles: The Devil’s in the Details
Photos by Jonathan Henig
Bryan from Royal H. has spent years at Seven finishing bikes. He, like many builders, prefers steel but will welcome new materials once and a while. Maybe that’s what finally led him to creating his first stainless bike. As shown through the lens of Jonathan Henig, here’s Bryan finishing a freshly blasted stainless frame. When it’s all exposed stainless, every little detail needs to be finished. Check out more at the Royal H Tumblr!

Recent Roll: Bryan from Royal H. Cycles
Here’s more Somerville coverage from my Recent Roll of Neopan 1600 black and white film. Bryan from Royal H. Cycles was working in his studio that afternoon with the lights dimmed and the late-day sunlight pouring in through his window illuminated the space with an eerie glow. That 1600 grain is so, so fine! Thanks for letting me shoot your portrait once again Bryan!

Bryan Hollingsworth from Royal H. Cycles
While I was hanging around Fringe this past week, I caught Mr. Hollingsworth brazing a fork end for a customer’s bike. There’s something elegant and artistic about literally playing with fire when it comes to framebuilding and Bryan makes it look easy. I’m sure we’ll be seeing this bike on the Royal H. Cycles blog soon enough.

Royal H Cycles: Marcus’ Touring Bike
Bryan at Royal H. Cycles recently completed this touring bike for a client named Marcus. This baby is covered in braze-ons and all the additions that make touring bikes so complex, yet so beautiful. On top of all the bells and whistles of a standard tourer, Bryan added a Shimano Nexus internal 8 speed driven by a Gates belt drive for the drivetrain. Other features include S&S couplers and ample room for fenders. Check out more at the Royal H. Cycles blog!

Royal H Cycles: Mark N’s Spring Track Bike
I’ve always wondered how many people have gotten custom bicycles painted to match their favorite jersey or kit. Usually it’s the other way around but not with Royal H. Cycles‘ latest bike. Mark wanted a bike to match his favorite Rapha club jersey. Crazy right? Well as Marty from Geekhouse said “my favorite royal h paint job” and it’s true. This bike is gorgeous! Head over to the Royal H. Flickr to check out more photos by Eric Baumann.

Royal H Cycles: Mike’s White Cross Bike
Last week when I put up the Reader’s Rides entry, Bryan from Royal H. Cycles posted this gorgeous cross bike photos to his blog. Since I couldn’t figure out how to get the images off the funky slideshow he had set up, he hit me off with Eric Baumann‘s photos. Man, what a great bike for this week’s weather. It seems like almost all of the country is under a white layer of powdery snow. I bet everyone’s wishing they had a nice snow machine like this!

Royal H. Cycles: Troy’s Singlespeed Rando
Royal H makes some Beautiful Bicycles up in Sommerville, each unique to the client’s specifications and requests. Troy’s singlespeed rando brought an interesting design element into Bryan’s process. He requested a rear, integrated rack on his Columbus SL single speed. The result is quite the looker. Check out more photos at the Royal H. Gallery (second from the left, second row).

Royal H. Cycles: Candy Chrome Track Bike
When I saw this bike at the Philly Bike Expo, my jaw dropped. Did he really put a translucent blue over chrome? Was it really my size? Both answers were yes and when I asked Bryan if I could photograph this bike, his answer was the same.

Royal H. Cycles: Disk Diaries
You asked and Bryan supplied (3 days ago). Who knew he had a Vimeo account? I thought all framebuilders were still in the dark ages? At least Ian cooks one bitchin’ apple pie! Here’s a back-story to the disk wheel on Royal H. Cycles’ time trial bike we saw earlier.
