Bespoked brings us yet another UK framebuilder profile with Saffron Frameworks. I particularly like this series because it gives you an inside look into the minds of custom frame builders and when it comes to UK companies, I rarely get that glimpse.

For this episode of Bespoked’ Meet the Maker, we get a look inside Shand Cycles‘ shop in Scotland.

Bespoked Bristol has a great interview up with Czech framebuilders Festka. This brand has been on my mind a lot lately. Their entire package is kicking serious ass. Everything is dialed: from razzle-inspired paint, to their studio photography and how sick is that Lizard rigid MTB?

I found this experimental project to be pretty rad, mostly because I love how the experience of riding a bike as a kid can resonate through to your adult life and influence your work.

Bespoked continues their builder profiles with Reynolds!

Cinelli has teamed up with Fifo Cycle in Red Hook, Brooklyn to make a limited edition bespoke cycling cap for Spring/Summer 2013. Made from linen and cotton and screen printed and sewn by hand, this fully reversible hat takes it’s inspiration from 1960’s pop art.

“We wanted to stay true to the impact the Cinelli branding has had on cycling graphics and to harken back to their vintage design legacy. It has been an extremely exciting project for Fifo Cycle…just the kind of design challenge that gets us spinning in the studio! We used transparent water based inks on natural fabrics to give the hat a vintage feel and an Oxford stripe on the reverse side to keep it dapper and fresh!”

Product Details: A fully reversible lightweight cycling hat from Fifo Cycle. Handmade in New York with cotton and linen, and screen printed with water based ink.

I’ve already established that Winter makes Beautiful Bicycles. This new video from Bespoked Bristol simply justifies that even more. It’s a shame they didn’t get video of him working. Maybe I should get my ass up to Portland again.

I have been enjoying these interviews that Bespoked Bristol has been putting out. This one features Demon Frameworks, who made some great frames for NAHBS last year. Such a great head badge and logo, I might add.

Another solid jersey design from Milltag. This time with a special bonus!

“This weekend sees the first Bespoke show in London’s Shorteditch with 10 custom Luma International track frames by 10 graphic graphic designers, a kind of Milltag for frames if you will. The show is notable for us as collaborator John McFaul has produced a frame to match his Madchester jersey.”

The Museum of Art and Design is proud to open their doors today for Bespoke: The Handbuilt Bicycle. If you’ve got some free time, you should really hop on over and check it out. Sacha White, of Vanilla Bicycles, posted a blog entry on the background of the show, which you can read over at the Speedbloggin.

Mark your calenders for this one NYC! May 11th through mid-August brings the Museum of Art and Design‘s exhibition Bespoke: The Handbuilt Bicycle. Curated by Michael Maharam with Sacha White of Vanilla Bicycles, the exhibition will feature many contemporary framebuilders in the context of the museum’s gallery spaces. 21 frames will be on display including the works of:
