Affinity Cycles: Pre-Order Launch for the 2012 Frames

Affinity’s new lineup is heading over May 10th but you can pre-order them now. The Kissena is such a bad-ass frame.

“We have a full shipment of Lo Pro’sKissena and Metro frame sets including new color ways on the Metro’s and Kissena’s plus a front fork brake hole option on the Kissena as well.

Also in stock is a full re up of all 2012 Lo Pro color ways including Matte Black, Champagne Money Green and the Chro Pro.

Show your support of The Kissena Velo Fund and purchase the KVF Sparkle Black frame set. Half of the proceeds of the Kissena Velo Fund sparkle black frame sales will go towards funding the new redevelopment of the Kissena velodrome. We’ve also brought a final round of the popular candy black (kinda forest green tint) Kissena color way.

You’ll need to make a full deposit for your frame set, plus shipping to ensure your order and you’ll be first in line to receive a frame once they’re in stock. Check out the new frames below and email us at info@affinitycycles.com or call us at 718-384-5181 if you have any questions.”

Unstoppables

A few people forwarded this to me today and I didn’t have time to watch it until just now. Talk about a motivational video.

“This is the way we would like to introduce our characters! Our goal is to make a documentary following these “Unstoppables” in terms of training and participation in the next Paralympic Games London 2012.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please do your best and follow us in:

Very inspirational.

Night Bike Race São Paulo

I’m sure someone will note that there are a lot of people on the hoods here, rather than the drops for a race. Since I did it for you, can we just get down with this? Looks like a lot of fun and in São Paulo!

Toro Custom Goods: Tension & Release

Kris from Locked Cog shared this video project from Toro Custom Goods:

“For anyone that’s put the time into building up their own bike know’s that it can be quite the process. Deciding on components, sourcing the goods and finding the time to bring it together into a ridable rig can be exhausting. However, the payoff is well worth it when you’re riding around on something born of your own two hands.

Last summer Kevin decided to take the plunge and build something he’d be proud to be rolling on. Not because it looked flashy or cost a grip of money but rather for the fact that he himself made it happen. For anyone who knows what goes into building something like this we’d like to share it with you. For the rest of you…here’s a look into Kevin’s process and a look at a hot bike.”

Thanks for sharing dude!

FEKKrew

These guys have been emailing me nonstop for the past few weeks to post their videos. So as a nod to persistence, here’s the FEKKrew. Fast forward to about the one minute mark for some beautiful scenery. I picked the one with Savath y Savalas because it makes me miss NYC.

In the future, I’m working on a user-submitted video sub-page to let people share their projects like this.

Dosnoventa Tokyo Carbon Fiber Track

Reportage

Dosnoventa Tokyo Carbon Fiber Track

We saw a few shots of the Dosnoventa track bikes in action during my Brooklyn Randomness post but I’ve been holding off on posting these photos up. Dosnoventa is a Barcelona-based company who have taken on making a track frame from the three materials of choice: carbon, steel and aluminum. The name translates to 290, or the bottom bracket height (29cm) for every bike in their line. The Tokyo is their carbon fiber model and this build was over-the-top to say the least. Rotor cranks, HED wheels and one bitchin’ paint job make this bike scream.

Wilis’ Daccordi Pista

Reportage

Wilis’ Daccordi Pista

If you’ve known Wilis from Milk Money and King Kog for any amount of time, you’ll know that he has a Daccordi’ction. He can’t pass up a good deal on these Italian steeds. While I was shooting some photos for my Shop Visit to King Kog (still to come), I took his Daccordi pista out for some lens love. The Campagnolo and Cinelli build paired with the monotone frame is one of the more subdued builds I’ve seen come from his stable but I like the simplicity here. Especially with the deep drop of the 3T bars and the Grammo stem.

Merckx Mondays

The Eddy Merckx Motorola livery might just be the most famous paint scheme in American cycling. I bumped into this bike while In Sydney a few weeks back. Gorgeous huh? But it’s not so peachy for Mr. Merckx these days. He’s facing charges in a Belgian police graft case… Yikes!

Check out more Merckx Mondays below!
