Granted, their freehubs are made in Europe and the carbon rims are made overseas, but the alloy clinchers are made in the USA.

I’ve known Ben from Fairends since the Freeman Transport days (R.I.P.) and I’ve always loved his made in the USA products. Camp hats are great. Also called twill caps, they’re a staple for any wardrobe. Personally, I prefer black caps, but in the summer, they get soaked in sweat, so I wanted to wait until fall to sell these.

You know what? I think Drew at Engin’s work is some of the finest in the world and when it comes to mountain frames, his titanium trail rockets are the things dreams are made of, so why wouldn’t he be able to make a sick cross bike, or all-road rig? Look at the body language and stance on that thing!

These bikes look the part and although I’ve never ridden one, I bet they rip just fine.

Sometimes, the simplest designs are the ones that become favorites. You don’t even have to explain the inspiration for the new Elevation wool socks from the Athletic. We get it. Available in Plum and Royal.

With the development of the narrow wide chainring, more and more companies are beginning to roll out their own designs for MTB and cross bikes. The newest I’ve come across is Endless, out of Asheville, NC. They machine and anodize everything in the USA and while they currently only offer 104 BCD rings, they do come in an array of colors for 32t or 36t rings.

Since moving all of their production from Oregon to Austin, Chumba‘s been cranking out their mountain bike frames in house. Today after a quick trail ride with Vince from Chumba, he took me out to their facilities so I could see their office and fabrication shop.

All I have to say is I’m stoked to see this going down in Austin, just 30 minutes from my home.

Yesterday, we took a look inside the workspace of Brian from Chapman Cycles and today, I see this gorgeous fendered commuter up on the Chapman Flickr. There are so many beautiful details on this frame, that you’ll have to go see them for yourself.

Ya know, I was going to paraphrase Marty’s copy from his email to me, but he does such a good job describing his bike, I thought I’d just paste it in. This is by far, one of the best Mudvilles I’ve seen, and you know I love some rain camo on a cross bike!

“The frame paint was done by Rudi Jung. Rudi also came up with the design. When Rudi told me about the idea, I was really excited, as it’s been a few years since I’ve had a new bike. The theme is Rain Camo, mixed with the new 2014 Geekhouse Team Colors, fading from dark teal in the front to bright orange in the rear.

At the last second we got worried it looked a little bit like your fork from Death Spray. We reached out to Death Spray, and his response was “It ain’t no thing, I copied it from the Germans.”

Components on the bike feature Sram’s new CX-1 with Hydro brakes. Enve Rims/Fork, Thomson Stem/Bars Post, and King Headset/Hubs. Wheels we custom built by Luxe Wheelworks. And tires were provided by Challenge.”
