Silca: the Dario Pegoretti Super Pista Collection Round Two
The first round of these went quick…
Silca’s Super Pista pumps already have a certain panache and when you turn one over as a canvas to an artist like Dario Pegoretti, they suddenly are elevated to art. For the latest run of Artist Series Super Pista floor pumps, Silca and Dario worked on 10 more pumps, ranging from $900 USD to $1,200 USD.
Expect these to go quickly once they hit the stock at Noon EDT on August 5th, so sign up to be alerted at Silca if you’d like to purchase one.

Mission Workshop: Black MultiCam Sanction with Arkiv Hardware
I cannot get enough of this material. Designed and manufactured in the USA, black MultiCam may be a bit fashion-centric but it’s so subtle that it’s innocuous. Mission Workshop continues to trickle it down its line with this limited edition Sanction rucksack but they added a hi-vis orange waterproof ripstop nylon liner and their patented Arkiv closure system.
The Sanction is the younger sibling to the Fitzroy, the larger sized rucksack but has all the necessary space for a quality day pack.
Made in the USA with a lifetime warranty. Scoop one up at Mission Workshop.

Do I Have to Send it Back Already? the Elephant Bikes National Forest Explorer with Gevenalle Shifting
While we took a look at my own touring bike yesterday, I will say this with confidence: had I ridden the Elephant Bikes National Forest Explorer prior to ordering my Woodville two years ago, I would have drastically changed my views on 650b, disc brakes and trail.
The National Forest Explorer is a low-trail, 650b bike with disc brakes and a decent, not copious amount of tire clearance. These NFE’s are made by Glen Copus in Spokane, WA and pack quite the wallop of versatility in a beautiful, forest service green package. They’re made from lightweight steel for just the amount of liveliness.

Low Bicycles: Mk1 Road Cadence Collection Edition Now Available
Now in stock, in limited numbers at Low Bicycles, the Mk1 Road Cadence Collection. As seen in our 2015 NAHBS coverage.
The Low Bicycles collaboration with Cadence Collection was inevitable. Both brands have supported grassroots racing in the Bay Area consistently over the years. This project was born out of an ongoing kinship between Dustin Klein and Andrew Low, as they both developed a following in the tight-knit messenger and alley-cat racing community. Both brands share an individualistic and creative mindset with an attitude and design philosophy that is informed by their mutual background.

Mission Workshop: The Sansom Water Repellent Button Up
Made in SF, the Sansom is constructed of Schoeller Turkish stretch cotton with a NanoSphere® water repellent finish with German made Prym s-spring snaps for fastening. This is a tech shirt that looks damn good on and off the bike. The last rendition was one of my favorite MW pieces. Available now, in limited stock at Mission Workshop.

Silca Announces the Low-Pressure Ultimate Gauge and SuperPista Ultimate Plus Pump
Whether you already have an SuperPista Ultimate floor pump, or you’re buying for the first time, Silca’s got two gauge offerings depending on the style of riding you do. I can’t remember the last time I pumped past 60psi for any of my bikes and wanted the ability to hit lower pressures more accurately on my Silca pump. Now they sell a low-pressure 60psi Ultimate Gauge for $65 or the complete SuperPista Ultimate Plus floor pump which comes with both gauges.
Just in time for ‘cross season preparations.

Prepare Yourself For the Most Expensive Bicycle Lock Ever
If you are a Captain America type, who likes to mink oil his Redwings, press his jeans, only ride American-made frames dressed with Chris King, White Industries, PAUL and the like while you eat your local granola dribbled with local honey then I found a lock for you. But you’ll have to give me a few minutes between mustache waxing…
Granted, that’s a bit of an extreme picture to paint. We all have tendencies, myself included and part of the reason I really like some of Abus’ locks is because they’re made in Germany. Same reason I like Panaracer and Continental tires. Domestic production doesn’t always coincide with excessive wealth or expense. Wald baskets are $20, King Cages are $30 and so on.
However, if I were so head-over-cleats with US-production, this made in the USA Shinola chain lock, clad in Horween leather would match my Helm boots just fine. Why oh why didn’t they do it up in Oxblood though?!?!
Yet as I said, $285 is a lot of coin! Unless you’re British, then the conversion comes to £182.87. Wait, that’s still a lot of quid!

Map Bicycles: Exposed
Prior to paint, even the finest custom bicycle frames can be riddled with pinholes or inconsistencies hence the saying “every good builder needs a great painter.” Every now and again, I come across a photo that is so exceptional, both in the subject matter and the photo itself that I have to share it. More often than not, it’s from Map Bicycles. Mitch’s latest piece from his Randonneur Project build queue is stunning! Follow along at the Map Flickr.
Love the Ritchey Annapurna-inspired binder detail!

Two Hot New Geekhouse Woodville Touring Bikes
The Geekhouse Woodville is the Boston-based framebuilding outfit’s touring model. Designed for long-hauls on the road or even around-town commuting, these frames are guaranteed to see their share of miles. This pair in particular was built for Bryn and Katie in Colorado, who have been more than psyched on their new bikes.
I’ve had some of my favorite moments on a bicycle on mine and still to this day find myself tweaking little details. More on that to come next week. For now, here are a few unique specimens, documented by Heather McGrath. Check out more photos below and read up at the Geekhouse website!

Mission Workshop: Hauser Hydration Backpack in Black MultiCam
The Hauser has been my go-to bikepacking, MTB riding and even commuter day pack since its inception. A highly versatile bag that’s both made in the USA and super comfortable just got more stylish (depending on how you feel about camo). The latest bag is made from black Multicam printed cordura. Multicam is a subtle print that looks even better splatted with mud… For those who always ask how I carry a camera on the bike, I use the 10L for DSLRs like the 5Dmkiii or rangefinders and the 14L for the Canon 1DX and two lenses.

Stinner Frameworks Now Offering Titanium
Steel is real and ti is uh, fly? You bet it is, especially when its wielded by Santa Barbara’s Stinner Frameworks. What is considered a lifeline companion tubing material, titanium offers a lively feel unmatched by other choices and is perfect for an “all-road” or cyclocross bike.
To commemorate this new tubing option, Aaron is offering a Ti stinner frame for $3,100 (frame and matched Enve fork) to 15 spots. There are only 5 spots left as I’m typing this, so make think about it, but do so with haste. After that, the frameset price will be $3,495 for the frame, painted or raw, with a painted to match Enve fork. Holler at Stinner for more information.
