Yes, it’s late but since the site was quiet all day, I figured I’d stir it up a bit with this Baum Ristretto. See more at the Baum Flickr.

Merckx Mondays
I love the random emails from all over the globe I get with “Merckx” in the subject lines. For today’s Merckx Mondays, two Stuttgart bikes make an appearance, from across the globe. Starting the Christian Wieners’ photo of this Stuttgart road, taken during the Giro de Brilliante 01, which I’m assuming is an event in Austria. You can see more photos from the event here and see more Merckx Mondays below.

Beautiful Bicycle: Kumo Classichrome Track Frame
I really wish I could have visited KUMO Cycles when I was in Australia. Especially after seeing this Chassichrome track frame. I can identify with large frames and this 60cm Columbus Life beauty was made with Llewellyn lugs, sports a hand carved Kumo BB shell cutout and keeps it classy with a chrome fork and rear triangle. Check out more details at KUMO. Thanks for sharing Harry!

Baum Cycles: Lime Candy Corretto
I don’t know how I didn’t follow Baum Cycles‘ Flickr before visiting their shop in Geelong. All of their customer builds are pristine. Check out more of this Lime Candy Corretto at the Baum Flickr.

From Sydney to Wollongong
Some of my favorite riding photos came out of my stay in Australia last winter. While I doubt any ride I go on in the near future will compare to the two days into hell that Fyxo and Shifter Dan took me on, I had a blast riding from Sydney to Wollongong with Adam of CycleEXIF. What I thought would be an hour long ride, ended up being a 60 mile ride through rainforests and coastal roads, leading us to the workshop of Primate Frames.
I was on my MKE Orange One, in city clothes, toting a camera bag and Adam was on his singlespeed. Neither were ideal vehicles for this hot, Australian summer sun-filled afternoon but we managed to have a blast. For more dialog, see my old A Day in 10 Photos entry and for more photos, check out the slideshow…

Baum Cycles: Venomous Corretto
This looks so killer that it’s gotta be venomous. Baum continues their melee of color-mixing with this crystal blue and venom green Corretto road frame. I usually don’t like painted ENVE components, but Baum just does it right. See more at their Flickr.

Primate Frames
Back in February, Adam from CycleEXIF and I took a ride from Sydney to Wollongong to see Tarn and Meg at Primate Frames. I met these two back in 2009 at the CMWC in Tokyo, when they were both living in Sydney. Meg was running Candy Cranks and Tarn was building frames and working as an electrician. A few years ago, they moved to Wollongong to enjoy the mountains and get away from the hustle and bustle of city living. Tarn now builds Primate Frames out of their home and their dog Shifter overlooks the operations.
Tarn’s work is unique. Bright colors, big, thick tubesets and yet, elegant when the job calls for it. He’s been a huge Brooklyn Machine Works fan for years and you can tell in his work. His yolks are fat, his swing arms are burly and he works with steel. Unless it’s a custom scooter, then he uses carbon for the deck.

Creux Cycling: Liberator Bomber Jacket
This one’s for the Aussies! While I was in Melbourne, I met up with Van from Creux Cycling and we pedaled around for a bit. He was wearing one of his Liberator Bomber Jackets and they just went up on the Creux site. I had a Campagnolo jacket that was very similar, but lacked a lot of the detailing that this one has. The drop-down flap, shown in the second photo is great because you can tuck it up into the jacket when you’re off the bike. Overall, this is a very stylish piece, with solid construction. It comes in an all-black version and one with cyan accents.
See more at Creux and if you’re in Melbourne, pick one up at NorthSide Wheelers!
