With another successful Saddledrive under their belt, the team at All-City have unveiled their new paint designs for 2016 on their popular platforms with the favorite (in terms of social media clatter) being the new Mr. Pink road bike. Now with an English threaded bottom bracket, a replaceable derailleur hanger, still designed to fit a nice plump tire, fenders and other essential accoutrement, the Mr. Pink is a great all-rounder road bike
Its new paint is reminiscent of the old Eddy Merckx Telekom paint scheme, giving the bike an attitude like the racing frames from the early 90’s. Fit with Sram Rival, built from Columbus Zona and either race or ride-ready, the Mr. Pink is one of All-City’s most popular bikes for good reason.

All-City Cycles: New Sheriff SL Track Hubs
All-City Cycles recently took their popular Sheriff track hubs and re-worked them drastically improving the functionality. All while keeping the original design language. They lightened the axles, removed material at the flanges and topped off the re-design with Japanese manufactured 6902 bearings which roll incredibly fast and smooth while retaining excellent seals for all weather, all-day everyday durability.
The result is a hubset that weighs a mere 432g,198 for the front, and 234 for the rear. This makes it one of the lightest track hubsets in the world, a figure even more impressive when you consider All-City didn’t eliminate the usefulness of a fixed / fixed or fixed / free option as most racing hubs do.

Junk Yard Doggin’ Around Los Angeles One Morning
All-City’s Junk Yard Dog, or JYD for short, is a do-all, hobo trail cuttin’, curb jibbin, bar or delivery bike, built with burliness in mind. I’ve seen various permutations of this bike floating around in my travels. Some people build it up as a delivery bike with a porteur rack, others a drop-bar monster cross like in Kyle’s case.
Kyle’s had this frameset for a while now and the potential build always centered around the Salsa Woodchipper 2 bar. Those bars, paired with White Industries, Paul Mini Motos and Bruce Gordon Rock n Road tires results in one mean, yet fun around town bike.
On my last day in Los Angeles, I went on a ride with Kyle (who modeled the new All-City Big Gulp Kit) as we left from our favorite pre-ride spot, Intelli Coffee on Sunset and made our way through bum trails and city overlooks.

The Crash Nationals night race was a huge success and even with all the nighttime shenanigans, had a good amount of photographers out, documenting the fun. It’s always a great feeling knowing that people thoroughly enjoyed your race, especially from such a fun city like Minneapolis.

Robert’s All-City JYD Work Bike
The All-City Junkyard Dog, or JYD for short, was a limited edition release due to its relatively unique use. A singlespeed mountain bike frame with canti mounts may not be at the top of your list of bikes to own, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a blast to ride. These frames really are unique. They’ll take a 2.35 tire, feature a segmented fork and are non-suspension corrected. In fact, they remind me a lot of my Indy Fab 29’r.
A lot of bike messengers use old mountain bikes with porteur racks for deliveries. They’re a bit lower trail than a road or cross bike, so they’ll handle better when loaded and they fit a bigger tire to keep the ride smooth over the rough terrain you can experience in cities like Los Angeles.
Robert runs Chicken Hawk Courier in LA and he delivers a lot of food to the guys at Golden Saddle Cyclery, where he bought his JYD frameset, Nitto bars and PAUL Flatbed Rack. To make delivering food easier, Yanco made Robert a custom porteur roll-top bag.
The build is functional, yet stylish and as soon as Robert rolled it through the doors of GSC, I had to shoot photos of it…

Jolene’s All-City Space Horse Commuter
All-City’s entire lineup is incredibly versatile and the Space Horse is a prime example. The frame’s paint is so classy that just about any component group or build kit will look great on it, especially silver parts. Jolene’s All-City Space Horse is one of my favorite to date. Little details like the blue nipples, Brooks Cambium, PDW Bird Cage, Balloon tires and the interesting 1x for commuting simplicity really make this production frame unique.
If she ever wants to do a tour, she’ll add rings, a shifter and appropriate cables but for now, this bike pedals her to work at Brew & Brew each day just fine…
