Jordan Hufnagel still has a few spots left in his Porteur City Bike Project. From the looks of this photo, you’d be in for a treat if you secured a spot. Check out the details here and email Jordan if you’re interested.

Tracko‘s Good Design in the Bike Shop series produces some quality photos. If you haven’t checked out the Flickr set, you should do so. Case in point is this Hufnagel embossing stamp. Clean photo Kyle!
Jordan Hufnagel has some new shirts for sale on his site. Head over and support this guy, he makes some mighty fine bicycles!
It’s always inspirational to see someone like Jordan Hufnagel put his all into a project. Recently, he completed two prototype porteur bikes which are the end result of extensive testing and tinkering. These bicycles represent the future of Hufnagel Cycles: machines paired for everyday, city use and yet fit for weekend excursions. This straight-forward design is as timeless as it is functional. The amount of precision fabrication and unique detailing found on these bikes is beyond impressive.

Jake really takes great photos. He recently visited Jordan Hufnagel in Portland and put his skills to the test. Check out the rest of his photos here!
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been catching some activity over at the Hufnagel Cycles Flickr account. It started with a photo of a stem and then a decaleur rack. Finally, we’re getting to see how Jordan Hufnagel has integrated a SON Edelux lamp onto this rack for a project he’s working on. Very clean dude. I’ve been in love with my Edelux lamp ever since I got it. They’re well worth the investment! Check out more at Hufnagel’s Flickr! I can’t wait to see this project completed.

I just came across this shop visit to Jordan Hufnagel‘s shop in Portland by a Flickr user named Scurvy Knaves. Now don’t get me wrong, there are tons of blurry, out of focus shop photos by visitors all over Flickr but these are far from that. You gotta check the whole set out here!
So we put lugs inside your lugs…
Anyway! Hufnagel’s been on a roll with some beautiful updates to his Flickr. The seat tube cluster, to me, is one of the most elegant places on a bicycle. Call it slightly perverse but it’s where you sit and as an exposed opening, it allows the builder to get crafty. From Bishop in Baltimore to Hufnagel in Portland, these double lugs are gorgeous! Check out the full shots here.
Sorry for the Xzibit meme reference!
Hufnagel Cycles knows how to detail a seat tube cluster, that’s for sure. Chromed caps, wrap around seat stays and a beautiful cable guide. Seth’s Bling Machine is coming together beautifully. Check out more teaser shots here at the Hufnagel Cycles Flickr.
Call it what you will, but 2016 was an interesting year and I’m not just talking politics! There were a lot of incredible bicycles featured here on the site, many with even more interesting stories and some were even affected by the events of 2016. We’ll get into that a bit later. Grading these beautiful machines is anything but easy and usually requires a few days of data compiling, including but not limited to social media chatter, visits, comments and time spent on that particular page. Since all bikes can be beautiful, this list includes both custom and production bicycles. Some of these will be a no-brainer, others even surprised me. Without further adieu, here are the Radavist’s Top 10 and Then Some Beautiful Bicycles of 2016, in no particular order.
The photos within this essay are by no means recent, but they offer a very intimate look into Portland’s framebuilding culture. I love the old portraits of Ira Ryan and Jordan Hufnagel.

Joshua Bryant is a frame builder out of Portland (who looks an lot like this dude Franco650b on Instagram). He specializes in road / touring / randonneur / dirt tourers and coincidentally builds out of the old Hufnagel studios off Burnside.
This frame in particular, dubbed the Fatrob, is a special bird. Built as part of a collaboration with Matt from Folly, it’s a 650b, tubeless, neon pink, SON-powered “get rad machine” – although I didn’t see Joshua get rad on it during this ride. We’ll have to follow up at a later date.
Why do I like this frame? How could you not? It’s pink and a playful mix of old and new school components. Oh and with the Plug, Joshua can keep his iPhone charged to get the ‘gram mid-ride…
I’m not into motos at all, but I can respect individuals like Jordan and James over at West America. They’re both unique artists and have inspired people to get outdoors. Introduction aside, this article really blew me away. After leaving Portland, James built this work shed in Whistler from salvaged materials, for around $1,000. The architect in me is loving its simplicity!
Whistler’s a huge MTB haven and I’d love to check it out one day, when I do, I’m pretty sure there’s room for my bike in the shed and a few trees for my hammock.
Head over to West America for the full story!
Also, Hufnagel is still selling that SS porteur if anyone’s interested!
As I sat down to scroll through all of the Beautiful Bicycles I photographed this year, I quickly realized how diverse PiNP has become. Previous year’s lists never had a MTB, much less two and even though the site has begun to embrace dirt riding more and more, there are still three track bikes in the rankings. Most of these bicycles were made in the USA by small frame builders, but two overseas-manufactured bikes made the cut.
This year for the Top 10 list, I looked at site metrics, social media ‘chatter’ and my own favorites (which were remarkably in-line). All of these bikes got at least 100 Facebook likes and over 20,000 visits within the first week of posting. The latter two requisites were necessary to bring it down to ten bikes, from the dozens of my personal favorites. Also, I omitted my own bikes from this list.
I like to think of PiNP as a showcase for Beautiful Bicycles and how they get put to use. See the full Prolly is Not Probably’s Top 10 Beautiful Bicycles of 2013, in no particular order, in the Gallery!
If you’ve been paying attention to West America, you would have seen that Jordan Hufnagel has sold all of his frame building tools and is heading to Patagonia with James Crowe, his shop mate. Before they leave, however, they’re finishing up some projects with US manufacturers. One of those companies is Danner Boots. Here’s a video lookbook the guys helped put together.
All I have to say is: rope swing.
Anytime this dude graces my inbox, I have to give it some love. Jordan Hufnagel continues his modeling career with the new Levi’s® Commuter Collection. Check out the lookbook here!
This has got to be one of my favorite cross bikes I’ve photographed since Ty’s Hufnagel. Raffy’s tale is a unique one, just like his Stinner. He works at Euro Asia and is arguably responsible for gumwall tires being distributed in the continental United States. While the specifics of that are still a but fuzzy, this bike is anything but. Clean, sharp lines mixed in with great paint and a pretty rad build list. See for yourself in the Gallery.

Anytime I see a photo of Hufnagel, I gotta give it some love. Especially when it’s from the lens of Brenton Salo. Great photo man! Everyone’s following West America’s Tumblr, right?
