Here’s the first Red Hook Crit Milano video I’ve found on Vimeo or Youtube that’s worth posting. It catches some spills at that turn everyone was complaining about as well as the final moments in the race, leading up to the finish sprint, which I still haven’t seen any video of. Who’s got it?

So yeah, the Red Hook Crit Milano sign up came and went (sorry for not posting that up) but a full roster means another packed year with an ever-increasing sense of competition. And with the prizes this year, there’s no wonder people will be gunning for it.

Your guess is as good as mine (if you don’t speak Italian) as to what this guy is saying but since cycling is the universal language, I have a pretty good idea. I can’t wait for the next Red Hook Crit Brooklyn.
I was just ranting on Twitter (hey, it’s what I do best) about how it’s impossible for me to keep on top of emails as of late when I got a follow-up from Carlos Guerra. He emailed me just after I posted up photos of the Red Hook Crit Cinelli Vigorelli, saying it inspired him to model a bike based on Dan’s winning prize. And I blanked on posting it. Dowh! Good thing I can still put it up. Without further adieu, here it is!

It’s about time someone made a 2012 Red Hook Crit video!
With the media buzz following the Red Hook Crit, I wanted to wait a little bit to put up the rest of my photos. This is a big set, probably the biggest I’ve posted but my intention is to give all the racers a chance to grab their photo if they want. So these photos are free reign, just throw in a little credit. I wanted to thank Dave Trimble for throwing this event and Cinelli USA for making my attendance possible this year. As I was going through all my Red Hook Crit photos, I went looking for the portraits that Craig laCourt was taking inside a box truck at the event. So far, these are the only two I can find. The one of Matteo on the left came from his blog and the one on the right, the Red Hook Crit Tumblr. I can’t wait to see the rest because these look amazing.

I feel like this party ruined me more than any other night in Brooklyn. The 2012 Red Hook Crit was a huge success and after the race, everyone headed over to The Bell House for the official after party. Let’s see, a bunch of hungry, dehydrated racers, good bourbon selection and a bunch of beer. It was a recipe for liver disaster. I even caught a few of the Mash dudes a little loose. Alex, you still owe me a drink!

Lab8 from Milano interviewed Dave Trimble, founder of the world’s best track bike criterium, the Red Hook Crit. Dave talks about the races humble beginnings as a birthday celebration for him, the current state, Dan’s win and where he plans on taking it in the future.

Mash just posted up Ranier’s Red Hook Crit race report. It’s a great read and considering that he beasted it the whole race, bringing in a very respectible 2nd place. Check out the report here at the Mash SF Blog.
Dan Chabanov has won the Red Hook Crit for the third time, meaning he now has three prize bikes. Each year, Cinelli donates a complete build to the winner and year after year, the bikes keep getting better. The 2012 trophy bike was already in King Kog‘s window when I went by on Sunday, so I took it out for some lens love.
