2021 Philly Bike Expo: LaMarche Bike Co. Town & Country All-Road

For our final feature from the 2021 Philly Bike Expo, we’re taking a look at this beautiful Town & Country all-road from LaMarche Bike Co. Tom LaMarche (yes, that Tom LaMarche) has been on and around bikes for a good chunk of his life. In addition to being a sponsored fixed-gear freestyle rider and professional stuntman, Tom recently added framebuilder to his resume. He’s currently offering two framesets – one is a rowdy-looking 27.5″ hardtail and the other is the uber-capable Town & Country. Continue reading below for details on the Town & Country Tom had exquisitely built up for the Expo, as documented by Jarrod Bunk‘s luxe photoset.

PEdALED’s Jary Collection: All-Road Hooded Merino Jersey

PEdALED recently launched the Jary collection and within this robust catalog of new pieces lies this beautiful All-Road Hooded Merino Jersey.

This jersey is made from a merino wool blend for natural breathability, durability, and body-heat regulation. It also incorporates ripstop chest panels to combat cold wind and keep your core temperature in check while also protecting against scratchy plants in the woods. The balaclava-style hood keeps the cold off your head and face, coupled with windproof cuffs to keep unwanted gusts out.

The entire Jary collection is a looser-fit, allowing you to layer up and dress more casually. These are designed in Japan and made in Italy.

The All-Road Hooded Merino Jersey retails for $180 at PEdALED.

This includes a short-sleeve merino t-shirt, a long-sleeve merino t, jacket, and riding shorts. The entire kit looks great with vibrant colors and a fit more in-tune with casual dirt rides to bikepacking. If I do say so myself, this is the best looking launch from the brand and I can’t wait to see some of it in person. Head to PEdAL ED now to check it out and see more photos below.

Ocoee Bikes offer Consumer-Direct Gravel, All-Road, and Mountain Bikes

With more and more of the bigger brands going to consumer-direct, other smaller brands are growing out of this new model, offering complete bikes with substantial build kits, in modern geometries, straight to the consumer’s door. Ocoee Bikes has adopted this business practice with three platforms currently; all-road with the Baseline, gravel with the Boundary, and MTB with the Seclud model. Each bike comes in a variety of build kit options, colors, and sizing, allowing the consumer to pick the bike that suits their needs best. Now, this business model does come with some downsides. One of which being by cutting out the middleman – aka the LBS – it will put more pressure on existing shops to adapt to the changing market, something that older shops will have a hard time adjusting to. Another issue is being able to ride one of these bikes before you buy one.

When you work for a custom builder like Alchemy it must be quite a thing to stare at a blank sheet of paper and decide what sort of bike you want to create for yourself. I guess that’s why Drew went custom-custom with this bike. This Alchemy gravel bike most closely resembles the company’s ‘Chiron’ model, but there is nothing stock about it. Geometry, tubing, cable management, and even paint design were all worked over and personalized.

Bombtrack’s New Hook ADV All-Road with 40mm of Front Suspension

The bike industry moves in cycles, what’s old is oftentimes presented as new. These throwbacks are maddening for old timers, but can be exciting for newer cyclists. It wasn’t long ago that Tomac made waves in mountain bike races with his unique style: drop bars on an mountain bike. Over the past few years, we’ve seen a number of drop bar bikes with front suspension forks and now, it’s Bombtrack’s turn to throw their cap in the ring. The Hook ADV utilizes 40mm of front suspension from MRP, paired with a dropper post from KS to liven up your dirt road or singletrack rides.

The Hook ADV will land between end of September and end of October 2018. Contact your local Bombtrack dealer or distributor for more information and see more photos below.
