Last Monday was the first time I’ve ever seen BMX riders tear apart some dirt jumps. Eric took me down to the 9th Street Trails in Austin and we spent the afternoon drinking and shooting photos of some locals blasting the hips.

These dudes were real nice. I didn’t catch their names but if you see this guys, drop a line in the comments.

It took me a little bit to figure out how to shoot at this spot. The sun was coming through the trees, leaving the rider’s faces mottled with shadows.

Then the sun moved to this one open spot, which happened to be right at this one big-ass jump.

It made for some awesome photos. I love how the rider’s shadow is in the dirt cloud.

The guys were blasting off!

Some really good shots, most of which are very similar but this was literally the only spot I could get good photos.

These guys were filming for an edit which will probably end up online soon.

Puckett took the tree-ride to fakie pretty high up.

Heading to the 9th St. Trails was a fucking rad way to spend the afternoon. I wish I coulda caught Chase Hawk hitting them too (brakeless!). Austin’s BMX scene is rad as hell. Thanks to all the riders who let me shoot them. If your photo was in here, lemme know and I’ll update the post!
