Restrap Shoot Uses Magnets to Make Camera Strap Swapping Easy

It doesn’t take much to get my attention when it comes to camera straps. Never one to shy away from innovative design, I was pretty stoked to see the guys at Restrap develop a new “quick release” for neck and wrist lashes. Through utilizing magnets, their design makes swapping straps between your 35mm rangefinder to DSLR and vice versa, a cinch.

Made in the UK by Restrap and at a damn solid pricepoint too!

Head over to Restrap’s Shoot Kickstarter for more information.

Hope Tech: It’s Grim Up North – Showcases New Cranks

Hope’s made in the UK products are top notch and to help create a buzz around their new cranks, they went up North to ride in what many would consider grim conditions with team riders Craig Evans and Sam Flanagan. I’m liking what I see with those cranks, and everything in Hope’s catalog these days. They really are putting in solid work.

Check out a great feature on the Hope Cranks at their site. Availability is slated for late January.

Rouleur x Vélobici Combativity Merino Pullover

I wonder, does Santa ride bikes? Because if he does… These new Rouleur x Vélobici Combativity Merino sweaters look to be doing it right. Made in the UK, limited edition (but still in stock) and a great, classic color – sorry, colour – palette. The USD conversion gets a bit steep but if you’re in the UK and are looking for a new pullover, head over to Rouleur to see more.

Shand Cycles: Stooshie CX Race Machine

Small-time frame builders can deviate from their normal M.O. and create more precision machines with very little issue, which is why I think framebuilders will forever offer a better fit to your specific cycling needs.

Agendas aside, this Shand Cycles Stooshie cyclocross race machine is based off a Stoater platform, with a few geometric tweaks, tuned in for CX races… oh and camo never hurt! See more at the Shand Flickr!

Shand Cycles: Stoater All-Road Bike

Lifestyle photos by Chris Blott

Shand calls the Stoater a “cross bike for people who don’t race cross” and here in the States, bikes like this get labeled “gravel grinders” or “adventure bikes”. I like to think of them as all-road bikes.

The Stoater can be run as a singlespeed, geared or Rohloff. Shand achieves versatility through using a PF30bb, so it can accept a Beer Components EBB and the Paragon Polydrop dropouts with interchangeable inserts. This, along with modular cable routing, drivetrain swaps are easy. Built from Reynolds 853 with Deda and Columbus stays, the Stoater can take what you can throw at it.

See more of the Stoater at Shand Cycles.

Ted James Frames

This video may address him as Ted James, but I know him as Super Ted. I’m stoked to see an old friend like Ted making moves in the BMX framebuilding world over in the UK. Also, don’t miss his piece on the RideUKBMX blog!
