CX Hairs: #SVENNESS 2.17
This is it, the final race of the year for #SVENNESS. This one takes place in Hoogerheide, Netherlands for the 2014 UCI Cyclocross World Championship. Surely by now you’ve seen how brutal this course was, so sit back and enjoy!
Excellent job this year, CX Hairs!

Manual for Speed does Dubai Tour
So… from drop bears, utes, sunburns, #Upgradecreds and other ‘Strayan things, Manual for Speed jumped on a flying machine and headed over to Dubai for the Dubai Tour. While this Tour Team Presentation post is cute, I love the non-photo essay on Emirati Women.

Emily Maye: Cyclocrash World Championships
With all of the carnage (seriously look at that link) at this year’s race, it’s been dubbed the “cyclocrash world championships”. I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed more wrecks in a race before.
I can’t wait to see what Emily Maye has from that event! For now, this will have to do!

Half the Road: A Documentary About Professional Women’s Cycling
While America watches grown men wearing spandex slam into each other repetedly tonight (no, it’s not a Cat 5 road crit), I’m more stoked on hearing that the ASO announced there will be a women’s race at the 2014 Tour de France. Also, I thought it was coincidental that this documentary came across my radar last week…
Half the Road is a documentary that explores the world of women’s professional cycling and why there is a great deal of inequality in the sport. But it’s not a solely a call for action, it also features Kathryn Bertine’s quest to make the 2012 Olympics. You can read about it more here and donate here!

Manual for Speed: Tour Down Under Stage 3 #UpgradeYourself
In what critics are calling “the best Manual for Speed post in 23.9 hours”, Daniel has continued to explore the various euphemisms of Australia, while working on his own Drop Bear impersonation. The Tour Down Under seems to be going a little better for Manual for Speed. See for yourself at Day 03’s coverage of the TDU.

Manual for Speed: Persistence at the TDU #UpgradeCreds
Even without the sought after green vest (more current evidence), Manual for Speed continues to conquer the Tour Down Under. While the photos are always great, I enjoy reading the story’s copy more. In fact, I’m wondering how long it took for Daniel to order a “long black” or a “pie”. Personally, I like the sauce on the side.
In other news, a Wedgetail Eagle died because the light reflected off MFS’ orange fest distracted it and it flew into a radio tower. Way to go, Tour Down Under. At least Daniel got a pick-me-up.
Anyway, check out Manual for Speed’s great coverage at the Tour Down Under!

Yes, it’s good. Why wouldn’t it be good. In fact, the coverage from CX Nats over at Manual for Speed is great. I love the interview with Walton and Evan.

Manual for Speed Needs #UpgradeCreds
The guys at Manual for Speed have been dealt with a classic case of anti-upgraditus. Apparently, the Tour Down Under doesn’t believe that MFS are legitimate photographers. Yet, in this recent field study, photographers with more access just seem to be dicking about.
Here’s a backstory:
“That’s when I was handed the orange vest. Not the blue or the green or even the fluorescent vest, the o-r-a-n-g-e, orange vest.”
Even with their recent Strava Instagram takeover, numerous sponsors and endless piles of incredible photos of professional cycling the guys aren’t taken seriously by the Tour Down Under officials.
Do Manual for Speed a favor and RT this for them.
Help MFS get #upgradecreds at @tourdownunder!!! RT RT RT

CX Hairs: #SVENNESS 2.15
Another weekend, another CX Hairs presentation:
“For episode 2.15, SVENNESS makes a stop at the Belgian National Cyclocross Championships, which took place at the Gaverbeek Hippodrome in Waregem, West Flanders, Belgium. The race takes place on a flat track with several flyovers and drainage ditches. It is a bit muddy and there is one long stretch of sand that plays an important role in this race.
We focus on the sand, the planks, the attrition of an already small field and the solidification of a legend. For the Belgian elite race, only racers who have full-time contracts are allowed to compete. That means the field is only 14 deep. The elites without contracts race a minute after the full-time pros start their race.”
