Rapha’s lookbooks are always so well compiled, filled with roadscapes, portraits and inspirational riding photography. Their Spring and Summer 2014 lookbook for the training and racing line came out stellar. I’m stoked anytime there are photos of people smiling and laughing while riding their bikes.

After the first year of Giro’s New Road line, a call was heard from the masses. Women wanted in on the line. Giro wanted it to be good though and rather than simply altering the current men’s lineup to fit women, they hired a female clothing designer and started from scratch.
For the 2014 Women’s New Road photoshoot, Giro picked a group of women ranging from a US National CX Champ, to a leader in advocacy and other figures in the industry. Their intent was to show a range of body types, personalities and styles to convey authenticity to women, and fits many styles. A female photographer, Michael Crook also shot the entire lookbook.
For the 2014 men’s line, not much changed as the classic pieces were established in the first season. However, the outerwear got a few new pieces including a wind vest and jacket, along with more layering options for brisk morning rides. All men’s photos were taken by Chris Milliman.
The 2014 Giro New Road line contains both casual and performance-minded pieces, for men and women, along with their California Collection: garments made by hand in California.

They’re a little tight the first time you wear them, but then they stretch out and fit like a glove. A glove around your junk.

I got to meet this lovely couple when I was in Melbourne and they’re both the perfect models for FYXO’s new Squadra Corsa jerseys. My favorite of the bunch being the Maglia Rosa!
“IT IS FORBIDDEN TO FORBID!”
It’s hard to believe that this is the typical Austin “fall riding” wear. Short sleeve jersey and bibs. Maybe arm warmers. Out of all my road-cycling kits, for some reason I keep coming back to this combo: the Tenspeed Hero Stealth Club Jersey and the Team Dream ENDO Compression bibs.
Both fit exceptionally well and are classic additions to anyone’s collection. In fact, I’m a huge fan of everything Tenspeed Hero is doing but I had never owned one of their jerseys before. They’re made in Italy, from tech fabrics and the fit is pretty spot on. I haven’t owned a club-fit jersey (size large) in over a year, so I was surprised at how the chest in particular felt a little more roomy than my tradition size large race fit kits.
What can I say? I don’t have to do posts like this but I’ve been really digging this jersey!
Twin Six continues their collaboration lineup with this super clean and simple Bareknuckle Brigade skinsuit, as part of the BKB collaboration lineup. This all looks really damn good!
One thing I’ve always respected about Rapha is scouting the perfect locations to photograph their seasonal lookbooks. This is deep winter. I.e. the reason I live in Texas. It takes a special kind of human to want to venture out in conditions like this, so if you’re going to do it, make sure you’ve got the right gear….

I usually don’t like posting renderings of kits, but these new offerings from Rock n Rollin are looking good. I love the “Live Fast Die Old” slogan. See the full offerings here. Some of which are a little weird, like the rainbow Eucalyptus…
I know it’s tough to decide which jersey or kit to buy with all the options I’ve been posting these past few weeks. What I will say though is yesterday, when Tenspeed Hero posted about this Stealth Club jersey, I went and immediately picked one up. And some new caps…

Ornot is a small, new label based in San Francisco. Founded by the belief that you shouldn’t have to spend a lot of money, only to look like a rolling billboard. All of their garments are made in California and are minimally-branded.
Check out the full Ornot line here. I will say one thing: kudos to them for developing a women’s line at the same time as a men’s line and making them the same design!
Also, damn, I miss riding in California already!
