I love using an Ass-Saver when it decides to rain in Texas and now, I’ll be using one of the new Extended versions on my road bike. The Ass-Savers Extended adds over an inch of length, which in terms of spray, is a large reduction. Even the Rapha Condor JLT team have adopted this platform.

I hate fenders and as a Texan, that is ok. The rainy days to sunny days ratio is skewed. We’re in an extreme drought, so why would I put fenders on my Geekhouse Frontage Road Tourer? Pffft….
That said, I hate getting sprayed up the ‘crack with dirty water from the road when we do get a moist morning. Which is why I love the Ass Savers Brookshield.

We’ve had quite the rainy winter in Austin and rather than put fenders on my touring bike, I’ve been popping on an Ass Savers when I have to run errands. When I received a prototype of the new Ass Savers Original, I could really notice a difference in usability… now, which color should I get?

A lot of people ask me about Ass Savers and from the little experience I’ve had with mine (hey, it never rains in Austin), I’d say they’re pretty damn good! Here’s a little video showcasing the simplicity of the Ass Savers design.
It seems that the ultra portable and simple Ass Savers fenders are working with San Marco saddles… Can’t wait to see what they cook up!
I’m digging this fender design by Nisnas Cycles but they’re only in the prototyping phase. Expect an update when they’re available!
