DOOM Bars Mini 31.8 Accessory Shims
Our buddy Keaton down in Albuquerque at DOOM Bars announced these nifty Mini Accessory Shims for all 22.2mm diameter hadlebars. So now if you want to run a rigid clamp for a light, or a computer, or things like aero bars, you can! These will work with all 31.8mm accessory clamp items, at 2cm wide at the clamp area, with a nice 5mm bevel on either side, feature DOOM laser etching, and retail for $30. Doom Bars: Bikepacker’s Delight and New Website
I’ve been riding DOOM Bars since the brand first launched last year on my Retrotec singlespeed. Bailey has been sending them on his basket bike and late last year, I added them to my Sklar tourer as well. Today we featured Kyle’s Sklar touring bike, which features the new “Bikepacker’s Delight”, a bar with 19-degree backsweep, a 5” wide stem clamp area (for bags and such), 38mm rise (1.5”), and come shipped at 875mm wide (34.4”), which can be cut to 780mm with a 185mm grip area.
While the black powdercoated Bikepacker’s Delight are sold out, DOOM still has nickel-plated bars in stock (pictured above). These bars are perfect for singlespeeds, trail bikes, tourers, klunkers, and the like. We’re stoked to continue to support New Mexico-based makers and are more than excited to continue to support DOOM in their endeavores.

Forged in the Heat of Albuquerque: DOOM Bars
The bicycle industry has many layers within the realm of the maker. There are framebuilders, wheel, and component manufacturers, and yes, bar makers. When I moved to New Mexico, I was eager to get to know some of the local metal alchemists. Then the pandemic really hit, so I began to scroll around Instagram, looking for signs of steel and brass. That’s when I found Doom Bars, a small, solo operation based in Albuquerque.
When I saw the bars they were listing for sale on their account, I sprung on a pair of nickel-plated bars, which I just installed on my Retrotec. Let’s take a closer look…
