Cole’s Indy Fab Cross

Reportage

Cole’s Indy Fab Cross

I love the old Somerville-era Indy Fab bikes from the early 2000’s. When I walked past this beaut at the Golden Saddle Cyclery Champagne Brunch, I stopped in my tracks and immediately began to look it over. Who on Earth had such style? Turns out, it was Cole. Big surprise there. You’ll recognize this mustache’d face from a lot of the Rapha imagery and videos. I’ve spent some time hanging out with Cole but had never seen this steed.

After shooting a few photos of it leaned against a wall, I got Cole to take it out into the street for some 50mm lens love. Man, what a looker!

All-City: 2012 Nature Boy Zona

Of course, if you wanted a single speed that weighed a little less, you could always go with the All-City Nature Boy Zona:

Nature Boy Zona LE 2012

$795 MSRP

These bad boy’s are now decked out in black and silver and will be arriving in September.

Last year our run of 80 framesets sold out in a flash, so if you want this 1/2lb lighter version of the Nature Boy with a Press Fit 30 Bottom bracket, you need to act quick.

We are taking preorders now, so get into your local shop and let them know that you want one.

Like last year these will only be coming in 4 sizes, 49,52,55, and 58.  However this year we tweaked the geo so that the 49 and 58’s mimic the standard Nature Boy (last year they were .5 mm shorter and longer respectively).”

Golden Saddle Cyclery: Just Another Day in the Park

This came out so good. I’m very pumped on Endo, GSC and Tracko!

“Los Angeles based bike shop Golden Saddle Cyclery worked with local cycling apparel manufacturer Endo Customs to create their first run of shop kits. What better way to showcase a kit than on cyclists riding the bikes they love. Or maybe we just wanted an excuse to go ride our bikes in these fancy kits…

Cookin’ Up Some New Wheels With Profile Elite RC Hubs

I have been salivating over the idea of a Profile Racing road / ‘cross hub since Christian first spun the cassette in the phone to me over a year ago. I like a loud hub and having ridden White Industry, Phil and Chris King, I’m very excited to try out the new Profile Elite RC hubs this coming ‘cross season. When the UPS delivery man dropped off the box today, I had to fry ’em up and see them glow.

Ross’ Richard Sachs Cross Bike

Reportage

Ross’ Richard Sachs Cross Bike

When I first moved to Austin, I met up with Ross to shoot his Nagasawa track bike. Then I shot photos of his Speedvagen and now, the other day, we took his Richard Sachs cross bike out for some lens love. This bike is race pedigree through and through. There are no cable stops for a front derailleur and no bottle cages. Not ideal for a daily rider but when Ross saw a local selling it, he hopped on board. Wanting to do something a little different with the build, he opted for TRP mini v-brakes, a Ti Chris King headset, Tune ‘Bigfoot’ square taper cranks and a Phil Wood Ti BB. Oh and Campagnolo 10… How’s that for a bike suffering from an identity crisis? Personally, I think it’s bad ass and he’s on it every day when we ride. Ride what you love…

Ventus, DeSalvo, Peacock and Ellis

Reportage

Ventus, DeSalvo, Peacock and Ellis

I am beat and tired of NAHBS coverage, as I’m sure you are. This year’s event was lot of fun but still, I need to find a better way of cataloging it. Already, I’ve got new ideas for Denver. While I recover from this coverage, here’s the last group of builders, beginning with Ventus and their polished and engraved modern Campy group. DeSalvo‘s nice road bike, Peacock‘s booth and a few shots from Ellis. I wanted to get more from Ellis but every time I went by, his bikes were being photographed or the booth was swamped!
