Even if this bike didn’t have a feather on the headtube, or the name Icarus anywhere on it, I could still tell it’s from the shop of Ian Sutton. With everyone and their mother ripping this dude off, I’m glad to see Ian’s still got some detailing tricks up his sleeve.

Wow. To think that Fairdale started off last year with really simple singlespeeds and have branched out into everyone’s soon-to-be-favorite commuter bikes… The new Fairdale line is looking great. From the simple chromed Coaster, to the Flyer 26″ cruiser, Step-through 26″ (check out the top tube flip!) and the Weekender Disk, the whole line has something for everyone. Your local Full Factory-distributed shop will have these in stock at the end of the month.

The coolest thing about the Weekender is that Taj is about to embark on one of the best touring routes in the country on Saturday. He’s taking his Weekender from Portland to SF on a two-week tour with Sandy Carson. Jealous!

Mr. Damien Riehl makes a cameo in the newest video from Sweatpea Bicycles, featuring their newest model, the Farmers Market. Aptly named for its front-end cargo capacity and still being zippy enough to handle some road rides.

Giro will be rolling out a series of these videos to promote their Reverb helmets this year, beginning with this profile on artist Chris McNally:

“Chris McNally is a San Francisco-based artist who fell in love with bicycles and art at an early age. As an illustrator, the need to get out for a ride has always been a part of Chris’ creative process, even if the ride is just across town to his studio. In this first session we ride along with Chris on the streets of San Francisco, from his home in the Richmond to his studio in the outer Mission district, as he talks about how important the ride is to his life and work.”

I’ll admit, I saw neon and thought “oh pretty”, then I read up on Nicolai’s Argon road / touring / tracing frameset (yes, I have no idea how those geometries overlap). But the color, named “alarm dizzy camou”, is probably what caught Death Spray Custom‘s eye. As far as the bike is concerned, it’s Gates compatible and their description seems very, um, German:

“It has to be said that the Argon Road is not your conventional road bike. There are no smooth welds, no intricate lugs and no carbon tubes. However, you can not fail to be convinced by its superior stiffness to weight ratio. Indeed, both the torsional and the longitudinal stiffness of the Argon Road are almost unrivalled and it significantly outperforms carbon competitors in this respect.
