I Don’t Know What I Love More…
This bike, or this Camera. I’ve been using the hell out of both as of late and while there’s not enough medium format content to make it an official Recent Roll post, there have been some gems coming out of this lens. The biggest challenge has been using this Distagon T* 50mm with its dual focusing rings. That and general exposure. Shooting with a Hasselblad has really changed the way I look at film photography. I don’t see myself picking up my AE-1 for a while.

Morning Coffee with Robo Cog Cafe in Sydney
Finding good coffee and food while traveling is a higher priority of mine than finding a good bike shop. When I flew into Sydney last month, our good friend / tour guide Yogi took us to Robo Cog in Surry Hills. A cafe owned by cyclists? Sure! Count me in. 20 minutes later and we were hooked. The interiors, food and coffee were all top notch.

FBM: A Giant Cup of Coffee
Just read the copy in this flier and your mind will be blow. The world’s first ramp stunt over the world’s largest cup of coffee. Or something like that. FBM clearly went nuts this winter! I wish I could be there.

SxSW Randomness 03
Today was awesome. We started off with a detox ride to some hills and immediately got sucked into the madness that is SxSW. I randomly bumped into Matty B, who was working at the Handsome roasters pop up shop. After some much-needed caffeine, I headed over to Yellow Jacket, where Elle Camino Vintage Clothes had her pop up shop going and from there, it just got kinda fuzzy. I do know that I saw Lamour Supreme at Secret Walls at some point but again, the rest of the night was a blur. Check it out for yourself here.

Screen Printing at Signal Cycles
I had the chance to finally meet Matt Cardinal and Nate Meschke, co-owners of the Portland-based Signal Cycles. In their carefully-curated booth, they were selling these handmade posters. Each sheet was stained with Stumptown coffee before they were printed. How Portland is that? Even if you can’t own a Signal Cycles, you can probably afford one of these nice prints. Head to Signal Cycles for more information.
