It’s the week of hip pack drops! Outer Shell just announced their new Hip Slinger hip packs, with a unique roll-top and hook design, as well as two zippered outer pockets, adjustable waist strap and a plethora of colors. These are made in the Bay Area and are in stock now for $90 at Outer Shell!

Sometimes you don’t want to carry a whole pack when you go for a ride. Sometimes your favorite mountain bike barely has room for a single water bottle. For the past few months, I’ve been using the Mission Workshop Rhake VX backpack and it’s accompanied Capsule camera insert for travel, work, school, and everything in-between. These are my thoughts.

Bontrager has developed a line of bikepacking bags designed to specifically fit the Trek Checkpoint yet the three universal sizes will fit any number of other frames. These half-frame bags use water-resistant fabrics, easy-pull zippers, a bright fluoro interior, and use a soft strap that won’t marr your frame’s paint. Also included in this drop is a top tube bag. Bicycle Crumbs entered the cycling industry as an industry outsider, an observer, a consumer. An everyday cyclist. Restrap has completed the second run of polka dot edition bikepacking bags, including their Canister, Top Tube, and Saddle Pack. The entire range is fabricated with the use of CNC fabric and laser cutting, alongside Restrap’s new printing techniques for crisper patterns. These bags use used milspec Hypalon, 1000D Cordura, YKK zippers, and magnetic fittings, all made in the UK. Check out the individual bags below.

For fans of the Porcelain Rocket Mr Fusion, you’ll notice some key updates to this stable saddle pack platform. The support bar is now curved to match the line of the pack. Now, Mr. Fusion comes in a 12 or a 15 size. Camera straps. They’re the photography accessory very little people pay attention to. Let’s be honest, for standard use, pretty much anything will do, but add in on-the-bike wear or usage and suddenly there’s a lot more to them. Outer Shell has developed a pretty awesome design, with quick-cinch adjustment and a sternum stabilizer. Their newest update includes a tripod-mount anchor to increase stability and improved compatibility with all types of camera strap mounts. These straps are made in SF by Outer Shell and are in stock now in a variety of colors with a retail of $58.

These days, just about every portage company has developed some sort of bikepacking bag line, yet in this sea of strap-on bags, Evoc has done something truly unique. Their new bikepacking lineup utilizes a Boa fit system to ensure a stable and versatile attachment. This system is unlike anything else on the market, allowing users to build out their bikepacking setup with ease. Included in this launch are a Boa Fit Seat pack, a Boa Fit Handlebar pack, a multi-fit bag, and a top tube bag. After last year’s Solstice snow fest, the Coal Headwear and Swift Industries crew decided it was time for a redux, prompting them to take to the Bay Area’s rolling hills and coastal vistas:
