Morgan Bateman got in touch with Stinner Frameworks last year wanting to build one of those “lifetime bikes.” Stainless steel was a must and Columbus XCR as the tubeset of choice. Easy right? Wrong. Getting an XCR tubeset is quite difficult, so they knew there would be a wait. In that time however, it opened up options to do something a little more creative.
In comes Death Spray Custom. Kyle Kelley from Golden Saddle set Stinner and Morgan up with David from DSC. After a few phone calls, a little begging and some swindling, DSC painted this amazing Enve 1.0 fork for Morgan. “Suck on it like a Jolly Rancher” is what the note card said when the fork came back. Morgan didn’t hold back on any other parts of the build either. ENVE cockpit, EE cycleworks brake, Jones Precision Wheels and Shimano Dura Ace Gruppo just set this thing off.
A crazy build demands a crazy photoshoot. Matt Miller had just the thing in mind. Armed with dozens of expired marine flares, he got to work…
