Yesterday, to my surprise this arrived in the mail. Dave Trimble sent me one of the Giro Atmos Red Hook Crit helmets. All I thought I was getting was a shirt and some socks. I’m blown away! But now I feel like a poseur when wearing it. Who cares, the detail is amazing on this thing! Check out a few more photos at my Flickr.
Also, this Friday is a Photography Exhibition. Make sure you catch it!

The Sounds of the Red Hook Crit 4
Maybe you remember the podcast interview I did with Peloton Magazine a whjle back? Michael, who conducted the interview runs a blog called Field Sepulchra. It’s all about “sounds from the field” and in this case the field is the racing field from the Red Hook Crit. Check out a sample soundclip below.

I love the barge’s horn in the background! Check out more right here. Now this is interesting coverage. Check out additional coverage at Peloton Magazine.

Ed Glazar: Wheel Build for the Red Hook Crit Prize Bike
The Red Hook Crit may very well be the best track bike-specific, unsanctioned race in history. Now I know that’s a big badge to hand over to someone but I really feel like it’s true. In just 4 years, David Trimble has brought his event to the international stage. It’s already traveled over seas and now he’s planning on bringing it to even more cities.
One of the quantifiers for being a superb event are the prizes, including these wheels that adorned the Cinelli Vigorelli prize bike. Sit back, put on the Lightbox and browse through Ed Glazar‘s photos on David’s Flickr. It’s really inspiring!

The Daily: Red Hook Crit Coverage
The Daily was one of the many media outlets present for the Red Hook Crit 4 and while the title of the article is hella cheesy, there are some good photos in there, taken by Kate Lacey. This photo of Lucca racing on Dan’s old Landshark is awesome. Check out the full article here (iPad version) and I uploaded the thread here in case The Daily ever takes it down.
