In Stock For Now: Ocean & San x The Radavist Juniper Dapple Short and Long-Sleeve Jerseys
At The Radavist, we look to the natural world and our unique Rocky Mountain locale for inspiration. The riding around Santa Fe occupies a semi-arid steppe, and native shade trees are scarce in these foothills. As such, dense juniper forests are often the backdrop to our rides, and we’re grateful for the shade these hearty, low-lying trees cast to counter the sun’s high UV radiation in these parts (an unfortunate byproduct of life at 7000′).
It’s during the fading hours of the day that these groves become truly radiant as the dappled light of sunset filters through their scrubby branches, onto the trail, and ourselves. On a ride, last winter, our product designer Cari Carmen snapped a photo of this dappled light hitting my shirt and commented that it would make a cool pattern for a cycling jersey. And so began our journey on The Radavist Juniper Dapple Jerseys with Ocean & San, a Los Angeles-based cycling apparel company. A year in the making, these limited-release jerseys are now in stock at our webshop, but let’s look at them in detail below.

Ride with GPS and Sarah Swallow Update Baja Divide Route
Since its publication in 2016, the Baja Divide route has beckoned mid-winter adventurers to ramble south through its alluring shrub-steppe mountains and vast stretches of undeveloped coastline. Thanks to the vision, time and immense resources dedicated by route creators Nicholas Carman and Lael Wilcox, the Baja Divide has steadily earned its reputation as the venerable winter touring standard. This sprawling 1736-mile bikepacking route connects the Pacific Ocean with the Sea of Cortez, traversing every major Baja California mountain range along the way. The Baja Divide links historic Spanish mission sites rich in water and shade with remote ranchos, rural fishing villages and bustling highway towns via miles and miles of beautifully rugged backcountry desert tracks.

The Moor, the Forest and the Sea: Two Days Bikepacking Yorkshire’s YC Adventure Route
In the North East of England, between vast swathes of exposed moorland and the storm-battered cliffs of the North Sea, a sprinkling of Victorian seaside resorts and ancient fishing villages line the coast. Designed off the back of the already famous road trip, complete with twelve variations, Route YC is the latest addition to journeys by bike in England. It explores some of the best of the Yorkshire Coast.
Starting and finishing in Scarborough, the Adventure Weekender takes in Roman-built upland roads, winding forest singletrack and the sands of wide open beaches. At the tail end of January, in the thick of one of the wettest winters of recent years, Chris Hunt joined the inaugural group ride of the 150-kilometer loop, with the hope of filling-in the blanks for what could only be described as a blind-spot in his geography of the motherland.
