Parlee Cycles are synonymous with performance bicycles. Their offerings at the 2011 NAHBS had my mouth salivating like a Pavlovian dog and these photos are a perfect example of their precision and craft.

When I saw Sarto Cycles’ Team Liger bike, I couldn’t stop laughing. But it wasn’t the kind of laugh people welcome at the NAHBS. It was more of a point your finger and laugh kind.

If there were a category for “best all around bike”, this Shamrock rando / cross / touring bike would take the award. Quick-release racks, fenders and lights made this bike stand out from others. For the 2011 NAHBS, Shamrock knocked it out of the park!

Chris Bishop is a madman! A madman I say! His Brett Horton town bike got so much love at the 2011 NAHBS and every bit of respect in my body goes out to this man. We saw a sneak peek of the Joe Bell paint job before but nothing does this bike justice. No photo, nothing until you see it in person.

World renown saddle manufacturer Brooks England had a massive booth at the 2011 NAHBS and I overheard the rep saying that this year there were more Brooks saddles on show bikes than ever before. Bottom line is, Brooks is here for world domination!

Everyone knows who Don Walker is. He organizes the NAHBS year after year and always has some show stoppers. Here are two seat tube clusters from his bikes. A Keirin tribute track and a fillet brazed tandem.

Oakley Action Sports is Oakley‘s new handle for everything cycling and sports-related. I met the rep at the 2011 NAHBS and he handed over some rather nice freebies. I now own a set of the B-1B grips, a headbadge and a pair of limited Frogskins.
Expect big things with Oakley Action Sports and fixed freestyle in the near future. SF what? Follow them on Twitter for all the news!
Anthony Maietta builds beautiful road, track, rando and touring frames in Shirley, Massachusetts. His offerings for the 2011 NAHBS sported healthy paint jobs and caught the eyes of the audience from across the hall.

Dario Pegoretti is known as much as an artist as a framebuilder. His graphics and his bicycles are both beautiful and his booth at the 2011 NAHBS was filled with glorious eye candy.

Igleheart has always crafted fine steel road bikes and I’ve long loved their segmented fork. This year at the 2011 NAHBS, they thinned their booth down to a few completes and each had stellar detailing.

Erik Noren from Peacock Groove is one of my favorite framebuilders. He’s all about having bikes that are fun and full of character and this is a huge by-product of Erik’s personality. I enjoyed hanging with him and shooting his beautifully unique bicycles during the 2011 NAHBS, especially his own Columbus MAX road bike.

With two awards from the 2010 NAHBS under his belt, YiPsan Bicycles returned with a pair of beautiful city bikes. Both of which were almost impossible to photograph on Saturday. I tried my hardest to get photos of the full bikes but only ended up with details and crops. One of the nicer details on his bikes was the adjustable and transformable low / hi-rider front rack.

The whole weekend we kept joking about the Portland phrase “put a bird on it” and Ira Ryan Cycles lives by that line. The Portland-based studio exhibited some fine framebuilding and paint jobs at the 2011 NAHBS.
