As we continue our “Hot Boyz of Cycling” series – that’s what I’m calling it anyway – I caught up with “Dominican Crihs” in Los Angeles en route to a local unsanctioned cross race. Which he lost to Hern if I recall. His Legor is one of my favorite singlespeed cross bikes I’ve had the chance to photograph. Crihs is a good friend of mine and one who is always quick to call me out on whatever he so pleases, so I put him on a spot a bit.
I’ve known Crihs for a very long time and each time I see him, he’s got a new bike. Not a new, new bike, just a different bike. I don’t think anything Crihs owns stays new, or at least looks new. His rides are all street-ridden and thrashed. Basically, his bikes are very, very happy.
This Legor Cicli singlespeed cross bike is an incredible machine. Vintage Shimano levers, PAUL cantis, vintage ATAC, a thrashed Flite and the rest of the components don’t distract from the impeccable fillets and halftone paint job. I even love the mis-matched black Thomson with a silver face plate!

Back when Chas had hair and Crihs wasn’t fat, they hit up Douglass St. with the Full Frame Collective and Werehaus guys. Terry got this shot of Chas, getting so pitted and it just makes me smile. For more entertainment, hit up the video from Douglass St. below.
Minor Threat and some easy spinning through Singapore. Not a bad way to start the day. The funniest thing about this video is you can totally tell Chas is picking on Crihs for that ridiculous wheel at one point. #Yahoos
Crihs has been trying to get out to Jakarta for Fixed Fest, leaving him with only one option left: donations via Kickstarter. I’ve always enjoyed seeing Crihs’ documentation from events and would love to see this event through his lens. Head here to donate but act quick, his deadline is Sunday!
While he’s no Lucas Brunelle, Crihs‘ race videos are always entertaining. I love the dark, grittiness of this 2011 Mash Vegas Drag Race footage.

I know I’ve been cropping portrait-orientation photos here on the site but these two photos are too good to put on another page. Crihs was in SF this winter, escaping the NYC cold and having a blast riding the hills of the city. Full Frame Collective did a great Personal Series on him while he was there and it’s definitely worth your time to check it out. Since PiNP is a one-man show, it’s tough to make it out to every single event. Over the years, I’ve gotten to know a lot of inspiring and talented individuals through the bike scene. Many of which are photographers who’ve inspired me to continue pressing forward with the site. So when I relaunched PiNP with new galleries and photosets, I wanted to reach out to my peers and ask them to contribute content. While I’m not ready to start handing over guest accounts, one of the ways I’m implementing this material is through Recent Roll posts: looking through their lenses.

Here’s another photo that’s desktop worthy. Two dreamy lads sit atop a freaking gnarly hill in San Francisco on their brakeless track bikes. Shot for Full Frame Collective, Crihs and Chas await for the traffic lights to change. It was great seeing you guys this weekend, albeit for a few minutes. These two crushed the MASH TT race to NAHBS. More on that later…
Enough with the funny stuff. Let’s watch Crihs’ Broadway Bombing video from this year’s race. I love it when he tells the driver to speed up as he’s skitching off him.

Crihs, Marc and Chas left on a fantastic voyage from SF to LA to Vegas this year for Interbike. Rumor has it that Chas and Marc had no problems on the hills but they had to wait for Crihs every 10 miles or so. I’m going to guess it was because Crihs was out taking lovely photographs. At any rate, he just posted up some great photos on his Tumblr from the trip. Check them out here!
The balls of some people. Someone stole Crihs’ Monster Track x REload prize bag at the after party in front of 300 people. How did no one see him or her walk away with this bag? At any rate, if you see someone with this bag, that’s not Crihs, tackle them.
Big ups man! Crihs took first at Monster Track XII today. That’s the second time he’s won. Hopefully people got some great event coverage.
