ISEN was born from UK custom framebuilders Hartley Cycles and Talbot Frameworks, aiming to bring stock sizing (47cm – 61cm), precision steel bikes, built and painted in house. They offer up a choice of 5 magnificent paint jobs, also known as their #SikCandyFadez and in general make damn appealing bikes with an aesthetic unlike anything else I’ve seen from the UK framebuilder scene.

This frame was commissioned by Michael at Blacksmith Cycle in Toronto, for his wife and he went all out on the build. I had the opportunity to photograph this bike, fresh out of the mechanic’s stand. The bike is built with Di2, White Industries, and Paul Components. with brand new Roval Terra CLX wheels, the latest offering from the brand. You’ll have to excuse the zip ties on the dropout, Blacksmith was waiting on an adhesive at the time.

These wheels have a 25mm inner width, allowing them to be used in combination from 28mm up to 42mm wide tires, at whatever pressure you might want to pump into them. Don’t worry about blowing the wheel apart if you exceed 40psi with these wheels, they can take it. Their claimed weight are 645g for the front and 770g for the rear. Then, if you want even wider, the Terra CLX EVO measures a massive 30mm between the rim walls. That’s wider than any other road wheel on the market, allowing the rim to take a tire up to 55mm wide.
