This year at Grinduro, eight frame builders presented bikes in partnership with Maxxis, Sram/Zipp, Columbus, and Hope Tech. The theme? What is your ideal Grinduro bike? We’re continuing today with Steve Rex’s gravel bike.

When it comes to fillet and bi-lam construction, very few builders do it like Sacramento’s Steve Rex. This bike absolutely blew my mind. I tend to get wrapped up in tig-welded, down and dirty bikes but with details like this, how could you not zoom in with your eyes and feel the transitions with your hands?

Fastback stays and a bi-lam head tube lug on this bike really stole the show at the Grinduro Framebuilder Showcase for me. The dropper integration adds to this mystical creation. Steve built this bike with Hope, Columbus, and SRAM.
