Reportage

THANK YOU for Coming to the Camera Corner Fairfax Premiere Last Night

This little website got to shine a light on one of the many people involved in the early klunker and mountain bike scene in Northern California last night with our premiere VIP screening of Camera Corner. We’ve spent three years working on a feature-length documentary of Wende Cragg, and the Marin Museum of Bicycling was the perfect venue to debut this beautiful film…

Located in Fairfax, California, the Marin Museum is a non-profit that preserves the history of the bicycle. Its displays run the gamut from creations from the 1800s to World Cup downhill bikes. But its pride and joy are the 1970s and 1980s klunkers and mountain bikes. Run by a series of board members and volunteers, many of which are featured in the film, the Marin Museum felt like the perfect venue to display Camera Corner. Proceeds from last night’s tickets go straight to the museum.

Wende’s Breezer Series I is back from its whirlwind worldwide tour after being showcased in museums around the world. It took center stage along with Wende at the screening. Along with her Breezer series III.

The 55-minute film filled the room with laughter, emotion, and cheers of applause. Hundreds of never-before-seen photos filled the screen, and stories from the early days of mountain biking transported viewers to a time before performance apparel and composite frames. Spills, thrills, and mountainous rolling parties were documented in all their glory, while familiar faces shared their admiration of Wende’s work.

After the screening, Wende organized a “Chewin’ the Fat” panel, during which everyone involved with the project shared stories from the events and answered audience questions.

All of us at The Radavist wanted to thank you for coming out last night. Each and every one of your smiling faces means the world to us and Wende.

There’s another screening tonight, and there are a few spots left, so make sure you get your tickets ASAP. We’ll have some Klunkin merch for sale, along with snacks and bevs, so roll on through!
