Crust Bikes‘ latest model, the EPO ($2100 frameset), is a US-Made road frame, built from Italian steel. Or perhaps its 38 mm max tire clearance makes it an All-Road bike, right? Who knows anymore? Anyway, the EPO is built by Darren Larkin in Connecticut in very small batches.
It’s made up of an assortment of the finest Columbus steel available. The Italian tubes provide a ride quality that will have you wanting to push this bike like you’ve been juiced up and are breaking away in the ’99 Tour de France. Each frame comes paired up with an ENVE AR Disc Fork to match the frame’s tire clearance and keep the front end light and nimble.

YouTube cycling personality Dustin Klein teamed up with Gore Wear to produce a run of limited-edition jackets made entirely from scraps! Each jacket is compiled of cuttings from the Gore Wear production floor, repurposed to create a extremely limited run of the brand’s best-selling Endure Jacket. These jackets retail for the same as the standard Endure jacket, $260, and feature Dustin’s slogan “Everything’s been done” down the wrist.

It’s spooky season, and while humans can’t return from the dead, bicycles can! Especially steel bikes. Longtime readers of The Radavist might recall John’s Geekhouse Woodville touring bike from 2013. Its history is sordid and includes theft, a recovery, some damage, and a brief hiatus. Well, thanks to a group of friends, John got it back, and the redux might be better than the original. Read on for the resurrection of this beloved and more beautiful than ever bicycle!
Tom Ritchey was at the 2024 MADE Bike Show, where he put on a fillet brazing display, making his white label Mountain Bikes Bullmoose bars and biplane forks for early 1980 Ritchey frames. Check out this fun video of him lighting up the old torch and meltin’ some brass!

Welcome to our second installment of Wish List, where Radavist contributors share their dreams of things that don’t exist, but maybe should. Some will be slightly niche but perfectly reasonable ideas that have every right to exist. Others will be impractical, expensive, and/or dangerous fantasies that probably should remain fantasies. Travis is back with another stack of requests, some of which go well beyond the bike industry.
Photographer Erik Mathy has a problem: he has a hard time doing the same thing twice. For every project he takes on, he wants to use some new combination of camera, lens and film. When Bobby Wintle announced the Mega Mid South ultra endurance race, Erik decided to build his own camera to bring with him to Stillwater, OK. In this latest edition of Obscura, Erik shows us his latest handbuilt large format camera and explains how he went about putting it together.
After John Caletti’s road bike crash, his friends completed this Disoriented Scrambler to showcase at MADE. It is a flat-bar single speed gravel bike with asymmetric, double top tubes and a 2.3″ clearance that fits people between 5’11” and 6’2″ in height. This one-of-a-kind dream bike is for sale now at Caletti Cycles.

There were lots of bike nerds at the 2024 MADE Bike Show, but what makes them tick besides bikes? Spencer Harding was there to find out through interviews with some familiar faces.
While the 2024 MADE Bike Show was filled to the brim with fantastic custom and bespoke builds, we needed to stretch our legs a bit and look outside the event facility as well. The bike racks around the event’s perimeter were filled with patina and beausage, contrasting the clean and polished builds inside the show. Did your bike make it into our Rack Spotting gallery? If we shot your bike at 2024 MADE, here’s a Dropbox folder with all the photos. We’ve got one more bike gallery next week, and at that point, we’ll also upload those photos. This was a record-breaking effort from our team, with eighty-four total bikes documented.
