You Have Until Friday to Pre Order the Necronomicog Kit
I’m closing the pre-order Friday evening, compiling the orders and sending the money to Endo for production. If you’ve already ordered your kit, thanks so much for the support and if you haven’t do so now! I was planning on doing a little promo video this week but someone stole my kit…

Review: Search and State S1-A Jersey and S1-S Bibs
Without a doubt, green is a color of spring…
I’ve been a supporter of Search and State since I first caught wind of their operations in New York City. Their S1-A jersey is a staple in my daily rotation (see my older product review here) and now, the S1-S bibs have been providing me with comfortable rides on all my bikes. S&S’s line is minimally branded, made in New York City from technical fabrics and is far from your standard cycling apparel.
So far, I’ve logged about 10 rides in the shorts, washed them, hung them out to dry and even dried them on medium heat. They still look brand new and they hold their black dye. I know the price might seem a little steep, but bibs are something you’ll wear much more than a jersey. Plus, they’re each made by hand in NYC and domestic production is a little more expensive for a reason.
As far as fit is concerned, I’d rate their sizing a bit like a club cut. If you’re unsure which size to get, go down. I usually wear an medium or large in club bibs and XL in race cut. Here, I’m wearing a large and the fit is comfortable, without being restricting. What I’m most impressed with though is the detailing and how soft the fabric feels. That and they look great with any jersey…
While this particular color-pairing looks great on the road, it also beckons for the ‘wood, so I took to the trails yesterday afternoon before shooting these photos. Check out my thoughts on these two garments in the narrated Gallery.
Search and State S1-A Riding Jersey $125
Search and State S1-S Riding Short $210

Look, I know this is a very metal kit and some of you aren’t into metal. TOO BAD. Even Tracko wears this kit and he’s as hippy as they come. Since the last run of the Endo Customs-made Necronomicog kits, I’ve received a ton of emails asking to do another run. Well, you’ve got a month to pre-order this time and I even listed it close to payday.
You have until June 1st to place your order. Expect shipments mid-July (maybe sooner).

Click here for the bibs – $135

Search and State’s New Jersey and Bibs Look Great
There has been a huge push in American-manufactured cycling wear over the past few months and I’m very excited to see Search & State leading the charge. I wear the shit out of the Riding Jacket, especially while traveling and now they’ve just added Riding Shorts to their line. Also, don’t miss the new OD green jersey!
It’s going to be a green spring this year…

Merckx Mondays
It’s Merckx Mondays (in the Northern Hemisphere anyway) and I’m back in the land of Eddy Merckx. Not Belgium, Melbourne. As far as I’m concerned, classic Eddy Merckx bicycles in Australia is pronounced “F Y X O”. Andy’s supplied the world with great photos of classic steel bicycles over the years and his new 7-FYXO kits are looking great. Pick up the 7-FYXO Jersey here and the FYXO classic bibs here.
Don’t miss the full FYXO photoset here.

Pre-Order the New Endo Tracko Splinter Camo Vest
Splinter Camo is one of the best patterns from WWII and these vests look amazing. I just ordered mine, check out the details below. Props to Tracko andENDO. These look great.
“There is nothing like a good vest for the Spring time. It’s in the 50s when you leave home and it can be 20 to 30 degrees warmer by the middle of the day. I’ve worn this vest over a lightweight jersey with arm-warmers when it’s 50 degrees and I’ve worn it unzipped and flapping in the wind when it’s 80 degrees. Vests are one of the most versatile pieces of outerwear you can own, on the bike or off. We chose camouflage because we wanted something that would disappear, allowing it to be worn with anything.”

Pre-Order runs through April 30th, 2013. Production lead time is 6 weeks.

Tracko Splinter Camo Riding Vest
Photos by Jesse Carmody
Kyle’s been so pumped on this project and I can see why. He teamed up with Endo Customs to design a riding vest. But let’s face it, there are already enough black riding vests, so he went with a WWII M90 Swedish splinter camo design. This weekend, he hired a male model to ride around in the woods and well, model the vest. Check out more information at Tracko! Save me one!

Pre-Order the Speedvagen Kit Until March 20th
Straight from the Speedbloggen:
“Army green has been one of Speedvagen’s core colors for, well, since the very first prototype I made back in 2006. I love the the icon of militarism and the toughness that the color represents juxtaposed by the goofiness of racing your brains out and crashing cross bikes in the mud with your friends. I’ve wanted to do an army green kit for a long time but as I started to dig into the design I was conflicted: On the one hand, you have all of this space that you can fill with words and logos; get all bilboarded up, right? But I kept coming back to the idea of a uniform. A uniform is clean, crisp, balanced, minimal. This kit doesn’t need a lot of shit on it to get noticed in the peloton and for that matter, the more I put on it, the less it really says.
We wanted to offer something special to our Speedvagen family and friends. Offering the team kit up for you all seemed like just the way to do that. We’ll be taking orders for two weeks only and we won’t be keeping any back stock. This means that only a handful of you will have the kit, well, you and our 6 team members. We’re planning to offer a fall/winter kit too, something a little warmer for cross and getting in base miles.
The jacket and vest, originally designed by Jeremy Dunn (of Embrocation fame) are an abstract design in our signature blue, army green, and red with an explosion of Speedvagen text and sheilds. The answer to the abstract outer layers is the strictly business base kit in army green with color bands as punctuation on the sleeves, legs, and collar with Speedvagen shields enblazoned on the chest, back, and legs. We also have a new Team cap that you can add to your order.
Castelli makes some of the best apparel available and has for over 100 years. Plus they’re right down the road from us, so it only makes sense that we work with them for our racing gear. All of the clothing is made here in the Northwest and the items we’ve selected for you are the top of the line of what Castelli has to offer. Wear them well. To place an order please visit the order page.
If you have any questions drop us a line: customerservice@vanillabicycles.com”

Necronomicog Kits Have Shipped, For Real This Time
This is just an update so that everyone stops emailing me, wondering where the kits are. I know you received your shipping confirmation almost three weeks ago, when I paid for the postage. Apologies. I should have delayed the shipment email until they were ready to roll. Then you would have only waited a few days. Well, I just got word that all the kits were shipped out today but it’ll take a few days for USPS to update their tracking information.
That said, I hate the USPS’ tracking system. It doesn’t work, so before you freak out, just know that your kit is en route. Give it a week for the USA and yeah, sometimes it takes up to a month for international. If you haven’t received your kit in the USA by the end of next week, email me and I’ll look into it.
Seriously, thanks for being so understanding. Pre-orders usually have a few hiccups but I didn’t want you to wait this long…

Pre-Order the Tracko Kits!
A back to back Tracko post? This one’s worth it.
Kyle just posted this pre-order notice for his new Endo Customs-made Tracko kits up on Instagram. I don’t usually wear a kit when I ride my track bike, but I don’t care. I’m ordering one anyway. This dude is largely responsible for the popularity of track bikes and his site has been a favorite of mine, since forever (sorry Andy, yours is too!). Everything he touches turns to gold and unlike those Ramblin Rolls, there’s enough of these kits to go around.

Necronomicog Kits are Shipping!
If you ordered a Necronomicog kit, you should have received an email yesterday, saying it’s been shipped. They’re leaving from LA this week, so expect yours shortly. International customers always have to wait a few weeks for theirs to show up, so hold off on emailing me until you’ve given it some time.
Thanks for the support on these. I have a feeling like I’ll need to do one last run!
